Good job Hos.

Speaking of rescue dogs. They showed a pitbull on TV this morning that was full grown and only 36lbs. The dog was extremely emaciated. A neighbors reported it and the (hated by some around here) Police arrested the owner. The owner had the nerve to claim that he was feeding the dog, but it just wouldn't eat.

After taking the dog, they found cloth and cardboard in the dogs stomach. They said he was probably eating that since he didn't have any food.

Apparently this happened some weeks back as they said the dog is already back up to 65lbs and still putting on weight.

If I saw someone doing that to a dog (hell, any living thing) I wouldn't call the cops, I should just shoot his *** and consider is a public service.

We just got a dog this last weekend from a humane society a few counties over. She's pretty awesome, to say the least. I think our daughter is kinda fond of her, too. ;)

Keep up updated. Hope Randy finds a home (why not your home, Hos? :) ).
My dog is an alpha female and is very aggressive towards other dogs. If she weren't, he'd be home with me.

She can always get a new husband. :laugh2:

We took on my manager's dog. He'd rescued Roly from a dog shelter after his wife died. Then he got himself a girlfriend....you know the rest! We got the better deal. :)

This is my wife's best friend.....I'm #3 in our household.:

That would only be temporary, Hos. You can integrate the pug into the household. Just takes a bit of effort and patience.

Good stuff Hos.

I wouldn't be surpised if your female accepted this male, especially if he is even the slightest bit submissive. They might have to work it out but I bet it would end well.

Does your sister have kids? What kind of father would take away a nice dog the kids have already bonded too? :wink3:

...society can do for people who don't have compassion for less fortunate creatures.

Let's be thankful they took the dog away. It would be nice if there was a law that could prevent a citizen who has exhibited poor behavior to a pet from ever being allowed to have another.

My personal theory is individuals who have no compassion for animals are suspect or prone to poor behavior to humans because they lack the empathy bone.

I haven't given up. My daughter is going to be finished with her semester on Thursday. She and a group of friends are considering renting a house together. She loved the picture of the little dog. I told her if they get the house I will go rescue that dog and pay his food bills if they give him a home and love.

Now it just falls on them to get their act together and rent the house.

Yep, this morning. They don't intend to put him down. That only happens here if they have a bad disease. Every animal gets a chance at a home here.

I get emotionally invested in an animal's welfare. I called the Animal Shelter. He is a purebred Pug. No chip, so they do not know who the owner was.

He is currently quarantined due to severe malnutrition. He is eating and they do have him on some medication to bring him back around. They don't believe he had eaten in days. No water either. I mentioned how tight the box was on his head and they said the tiny holes in the corners probably were his only source of oxygen.

They expect him to not be claimed by an owner and to go up for adoption at some point. He is currently not adoptable due to the probationary period for an owner to step up and the quarantine.

If he does not improve health wise he would be put down, but they do not expect that to happen. They believe he will go up for adoption, and they say Pugs are very popular.

I should have told them I named him Randy.

Talked to my brother about taking him today. He left the door open.
