I think the 92 season was referenced because there were minimal expectations prior to that season.
I don't remember if I actually posted this or not, or maybe someone else did. I know I was thinking it and I thought about posting it too. This season has reminded me A LOT of the '92 season for the reason you stated, and also because we had a few speed bumps along the way (the Rams game in November, and the Commanders game in December come to mind) . I belonged to a Cowboys group on the Prodigy Service back then and those two games caused a lot of doubt and nail-biting as the season went on. But that season sure was fun.

this team is nothing like those teams. those teams strode wiht swagger, played with determitnation and dominated from start to finish. These teams are nothing alike. Different era, different rules, different passion, different love. That team imposed itself on other teams. You knew who was the winner, you know who dominated, you knew each game who was playing to win. The last time i was that was teh 2007 OL, they did start imposing their will. THose 90 teams imposed their wills on each side of the ball. Their defense feared no one. Their offense knew the end zone. COmpletely teams , both pyhical and mental.

The 90's teams did not play from behind, they started fast, converted first downs on 3rd, defense didn't allow many 3rd down conversions and they dominated time of position from the get go. By the 4th quarter they had wore teams down to a point where they had the luxury of sitting players for the rest of the game. Fun teams to watch, especially the 92 team because they weren't expected to get passed the great Niners and they played in the tough NFC East that produced the last 2 SB champions.

I see a resemblance to the 91 team as well. Hope I am wrong but this is the first taste of the playoffs for the majority of this team.

I see the 1991 team too. We had an offense that was very hard to stop and had it's playmakers in place but we lacked a pass rush and needed a whole lot of help in the secondary. That all came together in 1992 when we drafted Kevin Smith and Darren Woodson and then traded for Charles Haley and Thomas Everett. We suprised everyone that year and won a playoff game but got blown out in the divisional round by Erik Kramer of the Lions.
If we get lit up by Aaron Rodgers on Sunday Jerry may have to make similar moves this offseason.

But in my mind I see us more like the 93-94 team. We got the big 3, best running game in the NFL, a TEAM defense and a head coach who isn't scared anymore. Same record and same attitude. We lost opening day and thanksgiving as we did that in 93, and we lost 2 games back to back when our best player went down to injury this year just as Emmitt went down in 93 against the Falcons. Emmitt won MVP that season and Romo is in the discussion. Emmitt also won super bowl MVP that season too.......to be continued........Finish the fight

Overall agree except with the defense. That defense was much better.
