They need to pull out all the stops. None of this reverting to "well, we're a running team, so we're going to run the ball every first down", which requires no creativity or coaching brainpower whatsover. The season is on the line every single game from here on out -- impress us Garrett & Co.

Someone's not sold on this coaching staff yet?

That's right. No more of these brainless game plans that only produce 38 points.

I'm not sure what you're referencing. This game was an anomaly from a play calling perspective. We used a lot of empty sets and were more willing to be creative and rely on the passing game than past games. This is precisely the type of game plan Id like to use and not revert to the run-only thinking we've used in many cases this year.

Sometimes I think they overdo the "we're a running team" concept. Earlier in the year when no one could stop the running game it made sense. But the running game hasn't been all that spectacular over the past month or two so now it just seems like we stick with it to be sticking with it, rather than because it's the type of play that ensures the most production.

I'm referring to what you said:

The Philly game featured one of our highest first-down run percentages of the season.

By contrast, the SF, ARI and WAS games were among our lowest first-down run percentages (and here I'm just looking at the first half, so as to avoid time spent playing catch-up).

I don't honestly know the answer to this, so I'm not disagreeing with you. But I do wonder if we hadn't kept pounding against Philly's brick wall with our running game all night, whether those easy plays over the top to Dez would have been there in the second half.
