Dumping Wade and naming Garrett head coach with Al Saunders being named O.C. He will be available now from the Rams and he already runs our system. We then sign Reds D.C Dom Capers and he brings longtime sidekick Vic Fangio with him. This way we get positive change while maintaining consistency. Far better than any of the other scenario's being kicked around.

Actually, Fangio is one of the VERY BEST in the NFL, has been for a long time too. Outstanding defensive mind. Was Capers right hand man for many years, currently serving in the same capacity under Rex Ryan in Baltimore. IMO Fangio has been very instrumental to the success of both those guys. Trust me, he would be a VERY good "GET". Same goes for Saunders. IMO this is far better than tearing this staff to pieces and heading into uncharted territory. Its not like the Cowboys are far away, or rebuiding, this team is VERY CLOSE to championship level and should not be "BLOWN UP'

I agree with you, in going with Jason over Wade. I do not see what JJ see's in Wade, he is not a HC, good DC but awfull HC.

I'd be all for it, but it isn't going to happen barring a miracle.

I just dont understand why Jerry doesnt offer it up. He could put it to Red like this............Gonna offer you the job, you can pick your staff, with one proviso.....I want a veteran O.C who is already familiar with our offense and Saunders is available, or will be shortly. Saunders comes in and brings some veteran knowhow with him, to say nothing of a SOUND offensive gameplan. Garrett then brings in his DC of choice, Dom Capers. Capers then reaches out to longtime sidekick Fangio. All it would take is a little give and take on the part of JJ and Red. JJ gives in on his Wade Pipedream and offers the job to Red, Red on the other hand takes the job but Bows to Jerrys wish of a vet playcaller,....Saunders. Sweet deal all the way around. We go from a mediocre staff to one of the top staffs in the Nfl overnight. All that needs to be done is some ego's be kept n check. So in otherwords, it WONT WORK!.....LOL How sad, and woefully stupid too.....

Wish we'd do what Tampa did last night, keep the potential longterm solution before another team steals him, and get rid of the guy you KNOW is not the solution.

Would rather keep Garrett and get rid of Wade and TO

We're stupid if Garrett gets away AGAIN!

Should have kept him behind Aikman - would have saved us tons
of aggrevation post Aikman.

LEARN SOMETHING JERRY!

What has Jason Garrett DONE? Why does he deserve to be Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys? Teams made fun of his offense and owned him. Screw promoting this p.o.s. he deserves to be fired for this piece of crap offense he served up to the rest of the league. This is where Jerry's business savvy comes into play in a positive way. You don't promote losers.

But NO, instead lets just let Garrett go and run Willy Nilly around the NFL hiring a bunch of missmatched junk to be our coaching staff instead..... I do believe, and have ALWAYS said that Romo would be killer in a west coast system, having said that it takes some time to learn. Quite a bit of time to REALLY get it down as second nature. In truth the west coast offense is about as far away from our current offense as you can get. Thats gonna sckrew this team up for at least a season if Shanahan is brought in. Our offensive line doesnt fit the mold, I'll tell ya that RIGHT away. We dont have the quick mobile guys the west coast needs, and to run the stretch play that Shanahan loves so much......GOOD LUCK WITH THAT....LOL

You didn't address the questions on Garrett. I really want to know what you see in this guy. He is like a Ryan Leaf, Bobby Carpenter or Isiah Stanback. A BUST.

Regarding Shannahan, he'll have to adjust his OL schemes to our bigger sized linemen. And the new playbook will have a full off-season and TC to adjust to. God do we need a new playbook. The team should have a playbook burning ceremony to symbolize a new start.

............For one thing injuries played a huge role in our offensive struggles all season long. Felix, Barber,Kosier, Holland, had alot to do with it. Then we have Romo miss 3 games, and play another 4-5 games at less than 100%. Imo Romo has been injured most of the season and it went under reported. Anyone with half a brain could see that. Now add in the fact that we had lockeroom turmoil, a denutted/impotent head coach, and trying to incorporate Roy Williams into the offense midstream and it is a recipe for DISASTER. I have listed MANY legit reasons, you on the otherhand just list......Garrett sux! Now which scenario sounds more logical to you? :lmao2:

........................It is my belief that Garrett is a "GOOD" O.C, but I feel he will be a VERY GOOD head coach. Many times in the NFL a GREAT O.C or D.C are not very good head coaches. Our very own pillsbury dough boy comes to mind....LOL The same can be said in reverse.....

This "GOOD" O.C. had his play calls being called out by opposing defenses and was cited as being "the simplest offense in the NFL." Hot Routes were more crisply run by the opposing CBs than our own WRs. On third and 1, WR Screens and reverses were chosen more often than the RB up the gut. What exactly are you using as a definition of "GOOD"? What is your definition of "BAD"? I am happy to hear you FEEL he will be a good Head Coach, but I'd like to point out this is based on FEELINGS and not FACTS.

My fear is that Owens has poisoned some of the team against Garrett. At this point, I don't think they would accept Garrett as a head coach. The inmates are running the asylum once again!

...................IMO Garret would be a good head coach from an organization standpoint. He would delegate out authority to those under him and concentrate on overall scheme/ Organization. Al Saunders would then be the one making those in game calls, not Garrett. As I said earlier, getting Saunders in here would be VITAL .

Garrett failed to ensure he had a solid back-up QB in case Romo went down. He failed to use Felix Jones effectively and the same could be said for Tashard Choice up untl the last few games. The lockerroom turmoil is a reflection of the fact the players didn't respect his playcalling or leadership (or Wade's, or Stewart's). His use of Roy Williams was a joke. He failed to get Romo and Willams to burn the midnight oil getting their timing down.

I had high hopes for Garrett and he was a total letdown. I literally celebrated last night when I heard the news his *** has been covertly run out of town.

Maybe he would from an organization standpoint, that's fine. Fact of the matter is he was a camoflauged hole here until Sparranno left. Then we knew who really was making this offense click. I just don't see a reason to give this guy a promotion based on organizational skills. Let's see some Wins and SUCCESS.

I know, believe me, I know. Im not all that high on Capers myself. Its just that Capers is the guy Garrett wants so??,But I AM very high on Fangio, VERY HIGH, IMO he was the brains behind Capers when Capers units were excelling. Think he is also a HUGE PLUS for Rex Ryan in Baltimore. Believe me, if there were a way to bring in Fangio WITHOUT Capers I would be all for it. Fangio AND Saunders are both Vital to the success of the plan I outlined for keeping Garrett....
