Maybe he would from an organization standpoint, that's fine. Fact of the matter is he was a camoflauged hole here until Sparranno left. Then we knew who really was making this offense click. I just don't see a reason to give this guy a promotion based on organizational skills. Let's see some Wins and SUCCESS.
...........You make some VERY GOOD valid points. You REALLY do. Its just that I dont want to see the whole thing "blown up'. Im searching for answers to be quite honest.

I hear you man. I'm however convinced this coaching unit SUCKS at the top levels. Wade couldn't lead a boy scout pack. He NEVER has. Nor has Garrett. Stewart was another camaflouged hole. Sometimes you need to tear down the old apartment building to get a nice new condo one put up in its place. I think that is our best option here, as I just don't see this team achieving its potential with Garrett or Wade running this team. If I could have it my way, the defense would still be run by Wade, but from DC.

I'll agree with this, but to be honest, the problem isn't Garrett or Phillips. It's Jones. When the players have an open door policy that fosters an environment where it's acceptable for your players to go over your coaches head, and subsequently, right into the owners/GM office to "air it out" you've basically castrated any balls that your coaches have. NO coach can maintain order in that environment.

It's like two parents with a group of children. Dad tries to be the disciplinarian but Mom circumvents Dad everytime he doles out punishment. Two weeks of grounding turns into a weeks worth of dishes. Which results in a Dad who has no control because he's constantly undermined and Mom has no control because the children know that they can run roughshod over her. In the end what you have a group of uncontrollable ****ing brats. That's your Dallas Cowboys, kids.

That's a really good point. We've got 3 Super Bowls with Jerry here so I think we can get it done. Jerry needs to let the coach run the team from his level though, I completely agree. Players can talk to Jerry, but Jerry can't start sucking the coach's power away by running the team as a Head Coach would.

Dumping Wade and naming Garrett head coach with Al Saunders being named O.C. He will be available now from the Rams and he already runs our system. We then sign Reds D.C Dom Capers and he brings longtime sidekick Vic Fangio with him. This way we get positive change while maintaining consistency. Far better than any of the other scenario's being kicked around.

Garrett is not capable of controlling the dominating characters on this team. That includes Jerry. Shanny is the best option available. If it had to be Garrett I do like who you are bringing in as his coordinators but don't forget this is the same Al Saunders who was OC at Washington, who were offensively challenged during his stay and this Rams team who were even more offensively challenged despite having some talent.

Yep. If Jerry would put his ego on hold and step out of the limelight then he'd get it back in spades. He just can't help himself. Gotta be the face of the franchise. Gotta get on camera. Feed the ego. Feeeedddd mmmeee Seymour! Feeedddd mmmmeeee!

I don't think Jerry can talk to the players the way he should. Hi, how the kids? You guys doing ok? Instead Jerry has to be the big cheese, the Godfather, the Saviour.

Hmmmm. I'm getting pretty mad with Jerry again.

Hos, I'm I starting to sound the same as I was in the Campo era? If so I need to drink some wine and take some herb.

Am I the only crazy one who wants NOTHING to do with Al Saunders and his 700 page playbook? With THIS football team?

What has Jason Garrett DONE? Why does he deserve to be Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys? Teams made fun of his offense and owned him. Screw promoting this p.o.s. he deserves to be fired for this piece of crap offense he served up to the rest of the league. This is where Jerry's business savvy comes into play in a positive way. You don't promote losers.

Right on the money.

People want Jason Garrett to be headcoach because he won a thanksgiving day game 14 years ago, there is no other rational reason.
