I still think it was a mistake to move Steele to LT

Steele was a guy with limited talent (given his draft position) and had really struggled at times last year to find his footing. He finally found consistency and success at RT this year and was playing well next to Martin. I am not sure why the coaches would think he'd be the logical choice to swap over to LT.

Now I get that Collins himself isn't a LT but I just think keeping Steele at RT would have given you some consistency in the OL. Moving him over to give Collins back his RT spot seems to have just shaken the entire OL.

Steele has outplayed expectations

by all accounts he should be much worse than what he is but hes what he is

an Average lineman

thats far better than what he could be which would be a turnstile

La'el Collins has not been good in years. There was a time back in 2018/2019 where Collins was just as trusted at RT as Tyron was at LT but those days are long gone. Now, we are lucky if he is just above average. I think Steele at RT could be giving a comparable performance for MUCH cheaper.

Yup, a new starter at LG, a RT playing LT for the first time, and a RT making his first start in over a year. What could go wrong?

I'd toss Steele back at RT honestly and let Collins earn a spot backing up at LT. I'd rather shore up on spot than make both tackles glaring weaknesses

I agreement. It looks like the staff made the wrong call on this. Now we are struggling at both tackle spots and the chemistry of the whole unit just seems way off with the changes.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I'll say it yet again.....Tyron Smith is monumentally important to this team.

They better have handled this injury correctly.

Some of us said it.........................Collins should be at Guard with Steele back over at RT when Smith comes back. THAT is your best starting 5.

One man goes down (Tyron) multiple changes made, there went any of the consistency present.
Could've have happened, it blowed versus a determined KC DL.
