I think based on Vegas odds, Rodgers is out

I know there is absolutely no comparison, but I had to bring it up. Romo is being paid like an elite QB. He better put hs team on the back regardless of the circumstances.

No QB has ever put a team on his back. If he had success, it's because he had a great team around him.

Yes that's how it works but the movement is from the bets which produces the most movement.

I'm not understanding what you're saying. You think every game opens at 0 and moves from there based on the money bet on each team?

Rodgers finished the 2011 season with 45 TDs, 6 INTs, a 122 QB rating (the highest in history) with a 32nd ranked defense, no running game, and playing behind a shoddy offensive line...

It's difficult to comprehend really how he pulled it off.

People need to stop trying to compare Romo to Rodgers IMHO.

Because the Packers ranked 10th in defensive passer rating in 2011. That's a far more important stat than total yards.

Have you considered spending more time on a Packers forum? You should IMHO.

I broke my collar bone about 12 hrs after Rodgers.

If he's feeling anything like me, he's not playing.

Ditto , go to packers forum please !

Checked out Packers forums once or twice over the years and quickly noticed what a terribly boring place they were. Everybody was happy, everybody liked the front-office, everybody liked the coach, everybody liked the QB. Almost no real debate -- no conflict. In other-words, it was sickening. :)

I chalk it up to a combination of the Packers having a losing record only twice in the past 20 years as well as the general upper midwestern philosophy of politeness and respect in intra-personal communications exemplified.

Packers were 31st in yardage but a whole lot better in points per game and a top ten team in defensive passer rating. The Cowboys are 3rd in points per game this year, it's not like they've been a dumpster fire on offense.

No, it was like you stated before. They set an opening line and then it moves from there based on which team the money is flowing too. As of right now, Vegas thinks Rodgers is out. If they hear a sniff of news that Rodgers will be playing, they will pull the line until it is confirmed one way or the other and adjust it accordingly.

Well, I have checked a few books and our game is off the board, at all five places. I couldn't even confirm if the game did open up at -7.5

Typically, when you have a player like Rodgers, who would cause a massive shift in the line, Vegas would hold off setting the line until they felt really confident one way or the other. And at the time of the OP, there was an open Vegas line, but the big book makers (Caesar's, MGM, Hannah's, etc) hadn't set a line yet.

Nope cousins Is goimg to light this team up.

When you look at the teams that have lit us up this year, it was the receivers every bit as much as, or more than, the QB. Cousins has Garcon, but not much past that.

I know this idea might sound new to you...

but how about putting pressure on the opposing offense to keep up scoring with you? How about scoring more than 14 points?!

Like Rodgers did in 2011, with the 32nd ranked defense. Finished the season 15-1.

Liar.

Not only that, but being a smart-arse while lying. The lowest of low.

having said that; I would never compare Romo to Rodgers favorably. He's very good, but not THAT good.

I don't know what to tell you. In 2011 Packers go 15-1 despite having one of the worst defenses in the history of the league with Rodgers having the best statistical season any QB has ever had (as measured by QB rating).

In 2013 a 5-2 Packers team loses Rodgers and goes 1-4-1 after he goes out.

Obviously Rodgers isnt solely responsible for the Packers success or failure, but you are kidding yourself if you think that a superstar QB like Rodgers is the single most important player on the field and that, all by himself, decides the fate of the team.

By yards they were terrible, but by other standards they weren't. They gave up 4.4 less points per game than this year's Cowboys, and averaged almost half a turnover more per game as well.
