I think Callahan stays, primarily because...

the offensive line has really started to gel and has Callahan's zone blocking scheme down. The future looks bright with this unit. I think Callahan has earned the right to stick around for this reason alone, but I am not a fan of his play calling. I would not be suprised if he is relieved of those duties.

He pretty much already was relieved of those duties. It is obvious Garrett has been sending in plays for the past few weeks.

Jason this morning said Callahan has been the play caller the entire season. Take that for what it is worth, but he was clear on the point, and if he's lying, he is risking that being exposed sooner or later.

You don't think he was lying when he claimed Romo was day-to-day?

It is in his best interest to lie. That way he continues to avoid accountability for his mistakes. Callahan can be set up as a patsy.

I like the idea, but am skeptical Callahan would take the demotion smoothly. Bringing in a new OC is intriguing for sure.

Not really. The next "offensive coordinator" will be in title only as our "head coach" continues his training.

I have not been a big fan of the play-calling this year; however, the Cowboys are 5th in points scored per game vs 15th in both 2012 and 2011.

Too bad there is no statistic that can track situational play calling success.

Ironically, when Garrett had total control of this offense, Romo was sacked 36 times in a row, last year and the year prior. Both career-highs. This was with Houck, followed by Callahan.

Yeah we scored more points this year than the Saints. Still though, there is some situational play calls that lost us games. That needs correction one way or the other.

No. That's how those kinds of problems are treated. Treat and observe. Romo is going to get intervention sooner than later due to his occupation and his own desires.
