I think defense wins championships is overrated

avaj

As I would like to see the offense stopped at one point, but I also don't want to see a 7-3 game either, especially in the Superbowl.

I want to see plays made both on offense and defense. I want see Fitzgerald and Wards make big catches. I can only watch Warner or Ben laid out in the backfield for so long. Which I love to see a quarterback sacked, but I also like to see deep balls thrown to.

I wish they would stop hyping defense wins championships. I think fans like to see some scoring going on also.

I want to see the Cardinals stay within 7, and the total score remain below 47.

For entertainment purposes only, of course.

It's not a matter of what fans want to see...we all like scoring, but history supports the fact that defense wins championships more times than not.

I'm pulling for the underdog Cardinals, but if they win it won't be because they won a shootout. The Cardinals' defense must play the way it has so far in the playoffs for them to have a chance. The Steelers' defense will keep them in the game, no matter what.

Last year's NE/NYG matchup was a perfect example. The Giants' defense took over and allowed them to win that game.

If the Cowboys' defense continues to come on, all we need is a little consistency and care with the ball to totally turn around our performance next year. Trying to prove that we're a high-octane, 35 point a game offense is part of what got us in trouble this past season.

The Cowboys need to run the ball more, throw safe more often, get away from always trying to make a play on 3rd and 15, rely on our defense more, and we could be in prime position again next offseason.

Defense is why the Steelers are favored today...it's NOT their offense.

I have to agree with wayne motley, although I do not like to see 49-45 games AT ALL....
I do admit to liking better defenses than offense, but I like to see it well earned. You know those games where the opponent has a noticably good offense, but the defense is right there knocking them off their game. Hard hitting, gang tackling, tough 4 down stands, things like that is what makes the game fun for me, not one team dominating the other. That is not fun to watch at all.
So 49 to 45 games are no fun and I will say that 10-7 games are no fun either, but those 27 to 17 games are.

I know defense wins championships, but my point is that I don't want to see a strictly defensive game

The Ravens/Pittsuburgh game was really slow and boring, but it was a football game, were as Cards/Philly game was fun and exciting to watch, it went down to the wire.

If this game was 9-3, really do you want to see a game full of field goals, because the it was defensive game. I think offense needs to be celebrated just as much as defense is in games.

I was watching NFL Network and they did a serious about defense always win. Do you also want to see a blowout.

The Cowboys lost to Philly because their defense took over the game. Was you happy with the results. Was you happy with the blowout??
