We have other needs that are too important to be taking WR's. If you want a small fast/quick guy Shipley is better. He's got better hands and is as polished as it gets. Great routes, explosive out of breaks..hard to cover. But I'd use picks on other positions.

I like Shipley but no way he's better than Golden Tate. Tate is another Steve Smith, hopefully without the whole punching his teammates in the nose thing.

If we are drafting low in the first round, like 29-32 range, and we don't like any of the OL prospects, we could take a chance on Tate. He's an aggressive WR and playmaker. We could do a lot worse.

Let's hope Free works out. If he does, the possibilities are endless!

Although we still need a LT. Maybe move Free to RT and Brewster OG/backup RT?

I hope to see this line next year.
LT=Anthony Davis/Free
OG=Kosier/Iupati/Brewster
C=Gurode
OG=BIGG/Iupati/Brewster
RT=Columbo/Free/Brewster

I agree and would be content with adding Davis and Iupati but are you really ready...more importantly, do you think Jerry is ready to let a rookie left tackle protect Romo's blindside?

The only rookie left tackle I feel can come in and start Day One for us is Russell Okung but he may be going Top 5.

Hes still learning the position, hes only going to get better. Hes so good in the open field we need a guy like him.

Of course Floyd is a beast. But were talking 2010 2nd/3rd round prospects.

Shipleys a JAG. If you really want a "Wes Welker" *wink* Decker is better

Welker never played to the level of Shipley in college. Shipley is the go to guy in Texas and teams still struggle to stop him.

It's just wishful thinking. I know Jerry will NEVER go O-line with the first 2 picks because it isn't sexy. I hope this Columbo injury and Flo just being garbage makes him realize that depth is needed.now!.

I wanted Marcus McNeil but between cutting Flo and signing McNeil to a huge contract, there's no possible way. Plus if next year IS uncapped then he's a RFA which means SD will keep him.

LT in the first or second round is a must this year. Free is a RT. Not a LT.

Free is a RT not a LT.

Interesting.

If that's the case you draft Vollmer/Beatty and we aren't worried about OT for a long time.

But we didn't and we made sure we could get Free into the game at LT during a blow out.

That should tell you something.

Don't agree with this...Jerry drafted a dozen or so special teamers last off-season, I won't be suprised at all to see him draft a couple o-lineman this time around.

None of this matters because we're going to sign LeBron James. Book it.

I think for the role that would be asked of any receiver that comes here it would be hard for there to be a better guy for us than Shipley.

But its not looking like we will draft a receiver.

Forget that, we're going to draft Tim Tebow. He doesnt need an OL, he just stares at the opponent and they fall over in front of him.

If we draft Tebow it will destoy this team. He and Buehler are going to face off in a Highlander type death feud.

There can be only one.

How can we take Tate when we'll be drafting OLs the first 4 picks..(Oh, with a NT thrown in there somewhere). This offensive line was the oldest in captivity BEFORE the '09 draft, & we reached for a fat OG! That's it! Flo is stupid, slow, and should have been replaced 2 yrs. ago. We had Beatty and Vollmer sitting there at #51 & we traded it away.

We don't need more WRs, we need someone to keep Romo from getting killed. The ONLY reason this offense is rated so high is Romo's great athleticism. Most QBs would have twice the sacks & turnovers that Romo has. We have good RBs, WRs, TEs, & QB. Protect them Jerry!

Flo has a bad combination of being done and not caring. You can absolutely plug Anthony Davis in day 1 and see a change.

Lets see what happens w/ Free but you can use AD to scare every guard and tackle into playing better.

Marcus Easley is by far the the most impressive physical specimen among the wide receivers. And he has been really productive this year.
