you did notice how few posts the OP had right? Considering the mentality of all too many here I figured he was just plain dumb.

Just FYI, I would put my Football/Cowboys acumen against anyone on the Forum.
I can't help if some are somewhat challenged.

Green needs to cut down on the penalties.
Yes he does, 75. But I suspect it was just rust. If he gets legitimate practice time and playing time this preseason, he should be G2G.

As per the daily tweet thread, and Garrett's press conference, he's full practice right now.

I think having a healthy Chaz Green could be a big key to the success of the Cowboys season.
Given Tyron Smith's back issues, having Green as his backup could be huge.
When he's been healthy enough to play, last year and this pre-season, he's been very productive.
Besides him, I don't know if we have a backup LT who instills much confidence.
Tyron's back problems are far less frequent that Chaz's lady parts problems.

Great OP. I think the same thing. Green plays much better than his 3rd round draft slot. He is capable of keeping the line playing solid without too much dropoff as long as he can stay healthy.

Listen here young feller, Green had one job, don't let Anybody touch Dak, Even if you gotta hold. It's Preseason, now is the time to make mistakes on accident or on purpose...

He did his job...

As long as he doesn't practice, walk, run or jog between now and the time we need him, he just might be healthy enough to prove it
This kid is talented but needs a nutritionist/personal trainer by his side 24/7 I still think these injuries (the consistency) come from being gassed/lack of conditioning; he's just talented enough to flash until he re-injures himself. Frustrating player to say the least.

For sure, the guy could start on any team he just does not have the ability to remain healthy in anyway

You people are wound up way too tight!
MVP was meant Tongue in Cheek.
Anyone with a brain knows that a back up LT won't be the MVP.
It was just a discussion starter about how Green could play a big role in helping the team should Tyron Smith or another lineman go down.
He's shown some real ability to be a quality reserve LT/Olineman.
His injury history is disconcerting but if he can avoid them, he will play a big role for the team this season.
He is the only one on the team that elicits any trust to step in for Tryron should his back problems persist.

How do you expect people to respond when you say something so odd and out of whack like that? Green has been barely healthy enough since he has been here to play 2 regular season games. And he has been hurt once again this year. 3 years now in a row with injury problems. And he lost both the RTcompetition and the guard competition. And to Cooper no less. Your comment is curious to say the least.

The bigger big key success would be acquiring a decent backup for Dak. He goes down, say bye bye to what could of been for another season.

well then you would lose about 90% of the time with statements like that about players like green

Yes, the talent gap between Green and Cleary is bigger than the talent gap between Tyron and Green.

Agreed. Given the normal rate of injuries, I think you need 7 solid guys. They'll likely need Green at some point.

If your success hinges on an injury prone player then it's a wrap.
