I'd bet dollars to donuts he ends up as Coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

They are built around defense and his new knowledge of the 3-4 makes him fit. He has that serious side that would excel in Steel City and he'd probably retain a lot of their offensive coaches.

Cowher is said to be nearing total burnout and might want to sit in a studio for a year or two and just relax then handpick his next job for a high paying owner like Jerry Jones.

If that is true and Bill leaves, I would love to have Cowher as the coach here.

I don't think Tuna leaves after the season.
He is enjoying getting to make fun of the media(and they make it pretty easy) plus crow about his talent panning out. He is getting as much draft input as he has ever had and these drafts(OL aside) have sparkled.

And for a guy from Joisey he understands Jerry will pay the best like the best. Even if you don't need the money its hard not to accept being the highest paid coach in the league and come back with a very real chance to win it all.

But that might make Cowher an even bigger possibility because I think he sits at least 1 season and sees how he likes the analyst role. We are wed to the 3-4 so a 3-4 coach is a must on the defensive side. The offense could be overhauled completely in 2 years so that could be any coordinator.

I'd love to bring Norv back here(as OC not head coach) after hearing him introduce Troy. Its clear his heart is still in Dallas.

They will elevate an assistant like either Russ Grimm or Ken Whisenhunt. Both guys are very highly thought of and will be HCs.

Don't you think Whisenhunt may have known something when he turned down the Raider job? He's given a lot of credit for Rothlisberger's development.

Zimmer is more likely to be our next HC.

no thanks to Cowher or Zim as our next coach. They'd both be eaten alive here unless JJ stepped down. haha.

I would definitely take Cowher as the next coach :)

Charlie Weis would be a much better fit and quicker transition since he worked for BP in the past........

I didn't say Cowher was my first choice .. I said I would definitely take Cowher.

You're going to have to pry Weiss away from Notre Dame and given that he just signed a new contract there (10 years I believe), it will probably take a serious offer to get him to buy it out and even then I'm not sure he would leave.

I don't read very much at all on other teams, and certainly not much on the AFC(other than the Colts because my best friend is a fan). Where is this "burnout" stuff coming from? Have there been people in Pitt writing abou this? Is this just someone's imagination or is there solid proff he's seriously thinking about stepping down in the very near future? Thanks for anyones input.
