I think it is Obvious that Mike McCarthy is gone after season

McCarthy was insane to take this job to begin with. He's exactly where anyone paying attention knew he would be. The inevitable, convenient scapegoat for atrocious, obstinate management of a team over which he was granted far-too-limited control.
Don't think some Cowboy fans realize how far Big Mac's star had fallen before he came to Dallas.

He got fired in GB before the end of the 2018 season, put out signals he was ready to coach in 2019 but no one was interested.

He then met with Pelissero from the NFL Network to let the league know he was available in 2020 and got interest from exactly 1 franchise.

Big Mac was the perfect fit in Big D. He is the ultimate company man and Jerry could sell the fan base that he'd hired a Super Bowl winning coach.

Big Mac is thrilled to have gotten his $25M for putting in a lot less work than most head coaches do. He will thank Jerry on the way out an never be heard from in the NFL again.

Fire him if you have to but don't hate him. Don't blame him. Don't demean him.

Pity him. He never had a chance.

The next HC won't have a chance either, unless he is given full authority on all matters related to football operations.

To put it another way, the next HC is already doomed.

I don’t know what coach would want to come here. You would think the richest team could pay for the best coaching money could buy, since there is no coaching salary cap. That would be one advantage, but we don’t even use that. Jerry will ruin any coaches career by taking this job. Set up to fail with the current plan.

I think most HC do not like to be fired, not get a contract extension or let go.

However I gotta believe that Big Mike would be relieved.

Has to be aggravating for him with the FO not addressing the Running game on either side of the ball. Not getting decent FAs and so on.

He is probably ready to leave this clown show as soon as possible and I would imagine his wife would agree as with his age and size....stress can be a dangerous thing.
He was gone in July when he put his house on the market.

Why, did you really expect McCarthy to win today's game with Rush Cooper at the helm and all of our injuries?
After this season I don't doubt he'll be gone, but the biggest problems with this team stem from Jerry Jones, not the HC.
Rush Cooper lol

Eh. This team makes the same mistakes that happened under the JG era. Really boneheaded plays and penalties that have never gotten under control. MM was doomed to fail the first day he stepped into this franchise.
Exactly, The lack of discipline shows, that McCarthy is just not getting the job done. But ol Jerry and Son is more to blame for this clown show, but we are all in,don't forget.

Mike is like every coach since Jimmy and every coach going forward.

It's impossible to win big in this incestuous culture.

I was sure of it in March.
Outside of a magical playoff run his time was up here.
The Green Bay loss was turning point on his career here.

I agree with the op.Spot on. I really can't fathom how he makes it through today still employed as the HC. The guy is burnt toast. I feel he won't be fired but a mutual friendly firing . What it will be in reality is him resigning due to stress on him and the family. It will be all hugs and kisses during the presser. Framed as a great success by Jerry and him.

“ Meat Head” Mike is terrible, the team is terrible, the leadership is terrible . If ever an organization needed a blowing up top to bottom it’s this one. They needed to trade everyone and start over.

I can count MAYBE 5 total players I want to keep during this coming rebuild, but that's all. Everyone else can take a hike. Trade them, cut them, whatever.

In his day, McCarthy was a really good HC. But time has passed him by. So has this game. He's so done. To me, same with Zimmer. Those two aren't getting thru to today's players. They need to retire and stay retired. That's why I'm a no on Belichick as well. We need fresh ideas, new blood, and strong willed young HC that players will buy into . Our staff is a mismatched hodgepodge of guys. Al Harris can stay. The dline coaches can stay. Ellis and Zgonnia. Everyone else should be canned right now. Bones fassell is terrible.

I doubt McCarthy feels good about it, but I'm sure he was frustrated that the front office didn't do more in the offseason. This is likely the end of his head coaching career, unless Aaron Rodgers wants to advocate for him in NY, lol. No coach wants to go out like this.

The way McCarthy is calling plays tells me he is already checked out on this season. Dude will be gone from Dallas the day after the season ends.
