I think Jerry is taking spite out at the fans

I think in his diluded mind he is mad at the fans for not accepting his sales pitches anymore. He feels that he should be respected because he is the owner, and he thinks he has done enough to earn that respect. In his mind the Cowboys ruled the NFC East during the last eighteen seasons, and he thinks that should be enough. Never mind that the East has been the weakest division in the NFL during that time.
But each time one of the teams from the East rose to greatness, the Cowboys couldn't compete. The Giants won two Super Bowls. The Eagles won two and went to a third. The Commanders are now back at the top, as well.
So I think what you are seeing is Jerry's way of lashing out at the fans to teach them a lesson. No one should dare question his loyalty to Jason Garrett, and how dare fans complain about him giving Dak Prescott the richest contract in NFL history despite proving to be a fake quarterback.
He is signing no name players to one year deals, and refusing to build the team to championship caliber.
Maybe after a year or two of losing fans will be sorry for questioning him and learn to appreciate his greatness and not question him.
Maybe they'll even put a statue of him outside Cowboys stadium next to Tom Landry.
JJ may not know football But he does not get mad at his money

Lol! Talk about diluted mind! Lol

I don’t believe Jerry thinks or cares about most Cowboys fans at all.

Now JJ does care about his corporate clients that pay big bucks to advertise with his team. Like AT&T, Miller Lite, Ford Trucks, etc. Those are the only customers he gives a rip about.

Sadly, we the average Cowboys fans do not occupy much space in his care zone. Yes he wants us to buy jerseys and show up at his “stayjum”….which is exactly why IMO we shouldn’t. If no one shows up to TC…he notices. If the stayjum is mostly fans our opponent, it could embarrass him.

But thinking Jerry is mad at us the average long supporting fan base. I don’t think he cares enough about us to think about it.
If we care about Dallas stop spending money on them. Only power we have to make change.

I really don't believe Jerry thinks much about Cowboys fans.

He believes himself smarter than everyone else so fans are likely nothing more than minor annoyances and, even then, only when a reporter mentions them when he's trying to push some new promotion or sales pitch.

Dallas media should keep asking him if he will have any regrets when he is no longer running the team because his lasting legacy will be running a team that did not make it to a Super Bowl in over 30 years.

They won't do it of course, but that's about the only way Jerry would ever get serious about winning because he's still living large off of those 3 Super Bowls Jimmy Johnson won (and yes, I count 1995 as Jimmy's win as well).

We are useful idiots and nothing more.

However, he is sensitive to criticism and the louder it gets the better.

I'm not going to trash this off season though. The staff after Schottenheimer looks really good and most these FAs have potential. I'll be interested to see how it works out, and open to the fact it could be a disaster.

I support the Cowboys players and coaches every year and will again this season with Schottenheimer and the players they field regardless of who is on it.

The front office is a completely different story though.

In Jerry’s mind, there are two facets to the Dallas Cowboys. One is the business side, which seems to be the one he judges his success by. The football side continues to be run into the ground, which doesn't seem to trouble him as long as the money rolls in.
You would think that at Ol Jerrys age winning would be more important to him than more money.

A man with the ego the size of Jerry hates to be embarrassed and is incapable of owning and correcting his own mistakes. Whatever brings him the maximum amount of embarrassment is good for the long term prospects of him and his birth certificate entitled son facing the music.

I don’t think JJ is capable of looking in the mirror and objectively owning not only his mistakes but also recognizing that HE is the problem. He has an ego-driven illness that despite his incredible business success, his election to the HOF based on his “contributions”, he literally cannot or will not admit his failures of the last three decades.

Any normal billionaire big shot owner of an NFL team has a big ego. But they also have the smarts to realize they are incapable of also running the football operations side of things to a SB. Where JJ is different is he has not only a giant ego, but also a giant delusion that HE is the real genius and architect of this team’s former success.

Really sad…really delusional.
I wonder if Ol Jerry knows that he don't know what he is doing ,and if he knows does he care that he don't know what he is doing.

Not sure how the dog deals with this way of thinking every day but Snoopy should really file for separation asap.

I hear you, and that creates quite the dilemma on my end.

I want them fully embarrassed to the point where they have to give up because they can no longer sell it. I do NOT want to “make the playoffs,” get absolutely smacked and then thinking they are “close.” They seem to have zero idea where they are roster-wise and manage it accordingly.

Luck has not at all been the difference. Three more wins against the best teams in the league are about much more.

Wouldn't put it past him and it's a notion that has occurred to me as well

I’m really tired talking about Jerry Jones. I wish we talk more about football. I know why and our situation but it’s so tiresome.

No knock on op or anyone on the site.

I don't believe Jerry goes off on his own and makes moves unilaterally. At most, he will make a decision if there is no consensus.

I think that the fact there is not a single voice with a vision is the issue personally. Jerry needs another Jimmy to listen to.

Sounds crazy but he wouldn't be the first billionaire to think like that....

th
Here is Jerry Jones's definition of a Fan! Likely the last thing on his mind is us as fans, likely Mr. Jones only considers us this way; $$$$.

I’ve been saying similar. There needs to be one vision and direction….not ‘you get your way this time, I’ll get my way next time,’ and if McClay is the one doing the actual GM work, the more they deviate from his opinion the more all over the place things are going to continue to seem to be.

Somehow ‘I want to build through the draft only,” and “I want to use a fourth or two without much discretion”…..can’t be the same guy. If it is….??

Now, maybe McClays plan doesn’t work, but you give him ample time then move on if it doesn’t, not pull some Milli Vanilli thing.
