He's done alot of bad stuff over the years, but they did a good job with the draft the last three days.

Garrett made him get out of the way, like Parcells did.

A good owner would have fired a GM like JJ years ago. Dallas doesn't have a good owner or GM, and things won't change. I find it funny that the original poster lament don't worry about the rb picked because he won't be the focus of the offense, that's the problem with the pick buddy. He wasn't needed and the Moron GM/owner just dosen't understand how to draft. He has no draft strategy, no clue and listens to morons like Switzer and Lacewell. This team won't win another super bowl until Jerry is gone.

I'm sure that was Jerry calling, then again it doesnt really matter. There's nothing wrong with getting opinions from as many as possible.

My statement was really more about the picks themselves, I think Garrett made the calls on everyone of those guys.

I think the people who are unhappy with the draft are simply confused. I think they aren't see the forest for the trees.

First I want to say that the draft is only ONE aspect of team building.

I understand your concern because we didn't do ANYTHING in 2009's free agency, but I ASSURE you that was an exception not the rule.

Jerry isn't broke, but he thought that the 2009 playoff game winning team was good to go. Add Dez Bryant and add Sean Lee, insert Doug Free as the starting tackle instead of Flozell.

First I would like to address the fact that Colombo was probably a bigger problem than Adams was, and should have been a priority to be replaced last year, but I digress.

Jerry didn't do anything after the 2009 season, because he didn't think he had to.

2011 isn't 2010, just as 2010 wasn't 2009.

We went 6-10 and had one of the worst defensive showings in the history of our team.

The 2010 season had such an effect on Jerry Jones.

- Fire Wade Phillips mid-season. Never fired a coach mid-season before.
- Hired Rob Ryan
- Selected a 1st round offensive linemen for the first time since he has owned the team, after seeing his franchise QB go down for a year.

Jerry is going to be just as aggressive in turning this defense around and if not in the draft it becomes painfully obvious that it will be in free agency.

I have to say Michael Huff would seem to be like a complete lock. There are those that think we won't even look at getting Nnamdi Asomugha, but they don't realize that Terence Newman is owed 8 million dollars this year. I don't see Jerry Jones paying anyone who was associated with last years secondary, 8 million dollars. He is do at least 30 million dollars over the next 4 years. Getting Asomugha now and releasing Newman is nearly a push. True it might be slightly more expensive, but there is a need to upgrade the secondary.

The fact that we went 6-10 is NOT lost on Jerry Jones. There WILL be highly paid players cut.

People are complaining about the Murray pick but they shouldn't. First of all he isn't going to be our primary running back. He is going to be a 2nd or 3rd option. Was he hurt before? Sure. Should that be a huge concern? I don't think so. People seem to have a consensus that he has the ability to have have been drafted in the 1st round. What people don't understand is that he is going to be thrown into the mix with Jones and and Choice. Barber is gone. He is going to make 4.25 or 4.5 million dollars this year and is due a 500k roster bonus 15 days after the start of the league year. The guy is GONE. Lonyae Miller of DeMarco Murray? Yeah... the pick looks better now doesn't it? The offense is moving towards a quicker, faster, more agile, and more finesse type of offense. This is only going to help Romo (Romo Friendly).

The corner we drafted was only drafted for possible depth. That's all the is. Pencil him in as the 5th cornerback on this team.

The wide receiver is also more for depth and development. I don't think we're going to see Roy Williams on this team. Like it or not I think we're going to see Ogletree upgraded to the 3rd receiver. This might seem like Ball for Hamlin, but I think it's not that key. Ogletree and Harris could strive in our slot. It's a change in offensive philosophy. Why have 3 receivers who are X Y guys in a Z position. It's a waste of money and Roy Williams just doesn't differentiate himself enough. There are also quite a few free agent receivers out there that shouldn't cost too much to add in.

Arkin should be in the mix to push either Kosier or Davis. He would at worst be drafted to be a replacement for Holland. I think we could still make a change here in trade/free agency depending on what we do with Davis.

Chapas was obvious. Bring in competition and then at worst you push Gronkowski to get better.

First of all I agree with you that the draft is only one part of team building,but it is the most important part.The 2 things I'm not crazy about when it comes to this draft is the 2nd round pick of Carter.He may very well turn out to be a good player,but I don't think the cowboys are the quality of team that can risk a high 2nd round pick on a player coming off injury.No matter how much they believe in their medical staff.Those are the kind of picks that very good to elite teams make,that don't really have to many holes to fill,and can take the risk.So I hope he turns out to be a good healthy player,and the risk pays off,but I wouldn't have done it.The other thing that bothers me,is the pick of Murray.I think you had to many needs to be using a high 3rd rounder on a rotation player.So I hope Murray comes in here and gets the bulk of the carries,where the pick can be a little more justified.I love his pass receiving skills actually more than I do his rushing skills.I do think we all need to admit that drafting Felix Jones where we did was a mistake.We've have got to do better on our #1 picks.The rest of the draft I liked.I thought the 1st and 4th-7th's were good.I just feel that this organization feels like that they are better than they actually are,and they draft like it sometimes.
