I think the better question is, who will be the DC next season?

And what makes you think he'd be the guy Red picks?

They played together. He has had success as Assistant Head Coach for defense at USC, and he is a Cowboy!

Having seen Butlers in action, I'm from Pittsburgh, I would say run away from that choice. I have watched Steelers games for years and they have run the same scheme so much I could call the game in my sleep. The reason they have not been picked apart before now is the high quality players have filled in the gaps. As much as it pains me to say it, Polamalu covers a lot of weaknesses in the coverage. He truly is that good.

Tecmo being named Head Coach is just freaking me out right now.

The guy that calls the same dam play 3 times in a row from the 1 yard line is getting promoted to HC.

Im guessing that red will be the HC next year and I have no problem giving him a shot. He's agressive by nature and I can live with that.

That leaves a void at DC with Wade gone. Who is likely to fill that void?

Shall Garrett become HC next year as opposed to this year I won't watch the whole season because I don't do re-runs and I've seen the results of that type of season 2 years in a row already. Things would only get worse.

Get Shanny period........

I know all that.

He's not coming here and wouldnt be a good fit.

Why not? He was the leader of the defense and has three rings. He has a firey coach personality and would command respect and full effort from the defense.

Perhaps not as DC, but he would be great as LB coach. Norton may be short on experience (especially the 3-4), but his players love him and would go thru walls for him.

I believe so since lateral moves are not allowed from team to team.

Craig

Those aren't allowed anymore. He'd have to be HC before Green Bay would have to let him go.

I'd still like Holmgren, though it looks like he might want to be GM/Parcells-style czar rather than coach.

I'd go for a guy like Russ Grimm. He's a former OL coach and tough as nails. He's bring that real blue-collar mentality that a team needs to be consistently good.

Unfortunately, he sounds like the exact opposite of the flash and dash that Jerry craves.

And whoever it is, Jerry HAS to let him hire his own staff completely. But again, that doesn't sound like Jerry.

If JG is the HC it doesn't matter who the DC is.

I believe this to be the correct answer. Garrett would have to really be one of those "not-so-good coordinator, but great head coach" types to excel as the head man. Yeah, he's intelligent, but I don't really see any singular trait he brings to the table as a head coaching candidate.

I don't think Garrett is horrible, but he's certainly not worthy of a promotion. He's the kind of guy that would only get promoted in a crappy company where unqualified folks move up the company ladder.

Oh, crap.

Or it's a family-run business -- and they're in the family portrait. :(

This reeks of another Dave Campo promotion, too.

agee.......

WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANY ONE SETTLE FOR JG as the future HC of the DALLAS COWBOYS........let's get serious.....this is not a joking matter!!!!!!!

Let's get the best HC that is available to the boys........and that sure isn't
JG:lmao2: ......let's not lower our expectations because we are

desperate..... and experiment with unproven experience.

Hell, IF its change that is coming........then lets change it:cool:
