I've been thinking our defense has been lacking that strong personality that leads in both how he plays and what he says.

I love everything I hear Tank Johnson says from his comments in preseason to his pre-game pep talk to his post game interviews. I'm not qualified to evaluate his performance on the field but if its half as good as I think it was, we might have landed the piece of the puzzlle that makes our defense measure up to where so many of of them were drafted.

I believe our defense will determine how well we do this year and if this guy is what I think he is, we're really lucky to have landed him at what appears to be a bargain

Someones going to make fun of you for callnig him williams and not Johnson

But it is good to have some fire. Hes like MB3 on D.

I do like Tank and what he brings, I hope we can figure out how to get more pressure, but other than that, yeah Tank's a leader.

Im liking Zach Thomas on this D along with Tank.

I think we have some charismatic guys on defense, but not exactly leaders. A leader is a guy like, uh, Darren Woodson or Michael Irvin. Not a charismatic plugger with the occassional hurry - granted he was agreat addition that added a new dynamic to our defense. But not a leader.

Romo is a leader by not only example, but by how he carries himself on the field. When he yells at the linemen, they react to it.

Tank needs to make an impact, a serious one - over a considerable period of time; through some 'big' games. Then, maybe. Accolades must be earned, especially with a star on your helmet.

Hmmm, i think you can be a leader in different ways. A very charismatic player can be one others lean to when things go bad. But he doesn't forces himself into a leading role he is just what he is. Other leaders don't have this charisma but they make good decissions based on their intellect and their experience. That's why people tend to follow them.

But one thing both must have in common. They must play well in important situations (of course they must play well in others too ;-).

And so to say i think Michael was a very charismatic player - a leader more by his charisma then for example Darren Woodson, who lead by experience imo.

Tank is the best thing this defense has had in years in terms of vocal leadership. No one the past 5 years has had the sac to speak up and get the group hype....

Kudos Tank...

Keep on with your bad self...
