Who is going to trade a 2nd this year and a 1st next year for the #18?

Who is going to be available at #18 that a team is going to want to give up 2 high picks for?

I don't think there is any way Cutler falls past Miami at #16 unless Cutler looks horrible at combines and starts a free fall.

But he is the only player that could be available at #18 that someone would want to trade up for (maybe to try to get him before the Chiefs grab him).

Alternatively, I could see a team maybe wanting to jump up and grab Santonio Holmes if he is there at #18. He is the clear #1 WR. If he falls to us, I don't think he falls past San Diego at #19 or KC at #20. Maybe a team would want to leap frog to grab him.

Thats it. If those guys are off the board, I don't see anyone at #18 that a team can't get at #32 or in the top of the 2nd.

Remember Denver has two No. 1s and needs a wide receiver opposite Ashley Lelie.

If the Broncos don't sign TO, I can see them jumping over San Diego and Kansas City, who may also covet S. Holmes, to steal him away.

That's why I like where Dallas is positioned in this draft. They're right about two division rivals and a third who has enough ammunition to make a jump.

Saban may want to have another RB, but Brown is a workhorse.

BP has Julius, but grabbed insurance with Barber (4th round), A. Thomas (FA), and Thompson (undrafted FA).

The suggestion here is to back up Ronnie Brown---a large back workhorse that is much more durable than Julius---Saban will want to trade up in the first round to draft another starting runningback?

It's just asinine to suggest that.

Really, Ronnie Brown is a work horse? And you know this how? From his college career? He shared the backfield with two other NFL RBs. His highest carry total in college was his Soph year I think he carried the ball 175 times or something like 13 carries a game. He followed that up with 84 and 95 carries. Total attempts his entire college career were 449. That's with 4 entire seasons. Caddy was the mail carrier at Auburn. Last year, in 15 games, Ronnie Brown carried the ball 207 times or just a bit under 14 carries a game. His team mate, Ricky Williams, carried the ball an average of 14 times a game as well. They were completely balanced. Ronnie Brown was not a work horse back. Perhaps you have him confused with Caddy. Perhaps Ronnie Brown may one day turn into a work horse back but he certainly never has been in his entire college career and did not prove to be so last year either.

In short, you don't know what your talking about but I'll be happy to accept your assesment of the situation as assinine.

Good call there rook.

I can easily see us trading down a few spots or even 12-13 spots. I see NO WAY we trade up for anybody.

Well, I wouldn't be totally sure of that. If someone like Hawk or D'Brick somehow falls to 12ish I think we'd move.

I agree with AB. If a special player like the ones mentioned slid, I think we might try to move up.

I think we should trade down out the first for a 1sr next season and pick up a 2nd this year....

with my 2 2nds this year i would draft Rodgerick Wright and that WR from Oregon.

Wright was considered to be a top 5 or 10 pick if he came out last year and could learn alot behind Fergy, i still don't know how he fell but who cares he's still a stud.... and the Wr from Oregon would give us young depht....

that's my 2 cents on the draft.............
Parcells won't do that again...he may trade down for an extra pick this year, or a better pick this year in the 2nd, but I don't think there's any way he trades down for a future pick...the future is now for him...and it should be.

That will happen when it snows on July 4th in Dallas.

It would be great to get a trade like we did for the Loseman pick but I don't see it happening. Donahoe (sp) isn't the GM anywhere any more (unless I missed something) and no one else is likely to do that kind of deal.

BTW I don't see Miami trading up for a RB when they just drafted Brown last year. The Williams situation may have simplified things for Saban since he won't have to figure out how to use both of them.
