Nope, nope, it looks like the preseason was actually the high point as it just got worse in the regular season. MANY people deserve to eat a lot of crow for dismissing all the tell tale signs that this team had some major issues when it struggled in preseason games. Most of all Wade...

So much for that wishful fantasy that once the regular season rolled around the Oline would magically start working and the coach would actually become competent.

Yeah, the "preseason" and "vanilla" people were WAYYYY wrong. But the joke is on all of us....our team is 1-5 and another wasted year. 15 years now without a Super Bowl appearance.

I wanna see what this place does when they find out he's still the head coach next season. :D

Yay for you.

Do you feel better now being able to thump your chest and say your right?

If so, good for you.

I don't think that he was necessarily bragging that he was right so much as maybe trying to get some small measure of satisfaction from seeing the rainbow crowd admitting to being wrong. I don't blame him much because the so-called "realists" on this board got major, major grief from many people...up to and including the ringleader.

That said, kmp77 was right: no matter where you stood on this team during the preseason (for the record, I was a milquetoast "wait and see" kind of guy), the joke is on all of us.

Next preseason will be fun to guess who will be the first player or coach who says, "it's just preseason" and then get blasted by everyone.

Many of us were concerned with the lack of execution during the preseason and were ignored. I don't mind telling some of you loudmouths I told you so although this is the first time I've ever done that. I get little satisfaction out of it though. Just a very little.

Sometimes I think the fans and more importantly the PLAYERS, need to eat some humble pie. I swear, its like the media, fans, players, and worst of all coaches believe the hype so much that it affects their play, preparation and mental states. We see this in the cocky attitudes and excessive celebrations (which were constantly getting flagged). It's the Head coaches responsibility properly prepare the team, but I feel like he's so WEAK minded that there really is nobody in control of things, putting the fear of god in the players and holding them accountable.

There should have been all sorts of alarms and concerns at the start of this season, but its almost like Wade doesnt really concern himself too much about the offense, leaving that aspect up to the OC while he stays focused on his defense.

I have said from the outset that we have a poor season any time the training camp practices are conducted in the 1960's style throw back jerseys. It reminds our players of our sorry beginnings and is a psychological barrier too difficult to overcome. Who could protect a QB when he looks like Jerry Rhome for goodness sakes? And if I'm dressed like a team that had Bob Lilly and then a bunch of no names, how in the world does that get a team ready for a championship season? When I saw that, I said right away, this will be a bad season. And look? What did I tell you?

Well these were problems last year, but we were lulled back in to "believing" when they went on that few game run. Then we get Dez during the draft and suddenly the owning in Minnesota goes away.. but the reality is, the problems were still there. Dez isn't going to block for Romo.

It was mostly just wishful thinking. Once we began under performing game after game during the preseason the alarms starting going off in my head, but others seemed to pass it off as preseason. They may of had a case, since preseason records hardly ever indicate what a team will do during the regular season, but our problems were fundamental football problems. Blocking, Penalties and general lack of execution that can never be explained away as a flavor of Ice Cream.

This is what blows my mind. Any dumb mental midget could figure out that the Oline was the biggest weakness that year, and yet this team does jack **** to address it...other than getting rid of Adams...who seems to be doing fairly well for Pittsburgh... Mike Shanahan went to the Commanders and the very first thing he did was to almost completely revamp that oline. This team brings in Barron.

Except that it's not an out-and-out prediction. It's looking at results and making a realistic observation. There's a big difference there. If he was playing chicken little before the preseason even started then you'd have a case.

How does me being a cocky fan affect the teams' play, preparation, and mental state?

Why do I gotta eat humble pie because I believe the hype? How does that impact the team?
