and since we all know a line needs time to gel and come together, it's totally fair to take a one-off situation where he's not used to anyone around him and simply bypass 4 years of solid play.

Considering he isn't the "hands down" best G available and considering he has only played 1/2 a season at G.....spending your 1st round pick on a guy you hope will be able to adjust inside makes perfect sense....

and he was getting dominated in that "one time" situation....it was just one on one....i'm not talking about picking up blitzes or anything crazy....i already said i didn't watch his entire career....but from what i have seen hasn't been deserving of the #22 pick...

some people want us to draft a WR.

a WR - for what, our #4 slot? he wouldn't even be starting barring injury or release of glenn or owens AND crayton getting hurt/demoted.

face it, we as fans are all going for what we perceive to be our biggest problems. no one and i mean NO ONE is a lock. gallery was supposed to be and he was picked at #2. a twinkie and a fresh glass of whole milk may get you that talent now.

if our line did what it should do, then:

jjones has holes to run through - he gets better.
romo has time to find receivers, who also have time to get open, wow, 2 positions and up to 3-4 players get better.
barber - same as jones.
TE - they have more time and won't be having to block all the time.

you can hide behind a shoddy line and you can patch it up with all the koziers you wish, but in the end that's not been enough to make the rest of the players better.

people want sexy, and i understand that. while blalock isn't "sexy" he can make those positions that much better and what's wrong with that?

i'm not disagreeing with picking him or any other G for that matter....just not at #22...if we trade down to #30 and take him.....count me as being on board....but i think there will be better value at #22 than a G....
