It’s also why I could never buy into Dak Prescott being a great leader shtick.I have watched thay play more times than I want to admit and I have no problem with him running the ball as the center of the field was wide open, and he had just enough time to pick up ten yards and then clock it.
The issue is he went from the 39 to the 24....if he goes from the 39 to the 29 they are able to clock with at least 1 second on it. Yes it's a risk of course and you can see that the wrs were surprised as they didn't hustle back until they turned and realized what happened.
Also, he has to tell the team in the huddle no matter what, when the whistle blows they turn and sprint back to their spot in the case he is sacked or has to run, which he clearly didn't do as the leader.
There is also the issue of not getting out of the Refs way so he could touch the ball and make it live to snap.
In short - running was not as big of a concern as was the lack of situational awareness, leadership to prep his team for scenarios and basic execution.
