I want to say something positive about our defense

OK, yes, I'm worried about our d-line, and LBers, and corners. But I really feel we potentially have the best pair of safeties this team has had in a long time. I said potentially, because we haven't seen it yet with Wilcox. But both of these guys are thumpers, true thumpers. And Wilcox is a great athlete. I'm optimistic that these two could become one of the great safety tandems in Cowboy's history.

There ya go - something positive. :)

Thx for the positive post and you did find the strength of the D. Just think any safety will have a hard time covering a RB, WR or TE for 10 seconds while the QB surveys the field with little pressure. Hopefully the D line can get some pressure.

Sorry, but that is as much positivity I can generate right now.

I think our D is a total wild card at the moment. This San Fran game is very important if they want to quiet the critics. I could honestly see a top 20 D

I don't think the 1st team defense allowed a touchdown all preseason.

Edit: I should mention I saw this mentioned somewhere on this site.

With all due respect:) I thought you said "positive". I want my safeties to be able to cover/defend the long pass and the bomb. Being thumpers is the last thing on me safeties list.

I feel good about the LBs. RoMc knows the game. Only worry for him is conditioning which will soon come around. Carter & Durant are playing in their best positions. And I believe Hitch is a student of the game and will be just fine in time.

Walls & Waters?

I was on my phone and meant to post this in response to "does anyone remember #41 & #43?" I was trying to be funny. Big fail. Anyway, I got a like from The Show ... and responding to myself. Oh well.

Cliff Harris and Charlie Waters. But Everson Walls #24 was terrific. Led the league in INTs his rookie season. Harris & Waters came intio the NFL 10 or 11 years before Everson. 1970

Everson Walls was my man. We would watch the game ... and every time he got an INT we would yell "up against the wall". I think he led the league three years in a row with 11.

As the season goes, we will only get better. McClain will be back and Lawrence will finally get to show us his potential once he gets back.
