The last time the Cowboys won a playoff game. That makes me 22 now... the last 50% of my life has been without a single Cowboys playoff win.

What sucks is that my first year being a fan was 1992 (age 7), and so I didn't really appreciate the enormous success they had... I was spoiled silly by the 'Boys, and I thought it would be the norm forever.

There is no guarantee we'll be back in the playoffs next year. Look at the Saints, Bears, and Eagles... all division winners just a year ago. It could be another 11 years before we have a team this good again. That's reality.

I like our chances today... a lot. We're simply the better team.

But I won't lie... I'm terrified. I think we'd beat this team 7-8 times if we played them 10 times. But that still means we'd lose 2-3 times, and there's no telling whether or not today is one of those days.

This season has been a freakin' dream! I swear, we haven't been universally hated this much since the glory days. Embracing the hate, as Hostile says, has been as fun as it was way back when I was in the Bay Area pissing off adult 49ers fans with my Aikman jersey and #22 Emmitt cap. This season has had the same feel... sporting my Romo jersey, railing on the haters on a regular basis.

I'm so not ready for it to end... win today, and I'll feel fine for at least a few more days before the obligatory anxieties build up regarding the rematch vs. Green Bay.

The sucky thing is that I know I'll be down in the dumps unless we win the Super Bowl... and I hate to say it, but I don't see anybody beating New England. I'd LOVE another shot at them, because anything can happen on any given Sunday... but I'd be lying if I said I'd like our chances in that game.

Okay, I'm rambling... just win today and let us celebrate for at least a couple days before gearing up for the Packers!

WHO ELSE IS FREAKIN' EXCITED!?!?!? :starspin :starspin :starspin

I feel for you. I am 35, just old enough to remember some of the Staubach years, and of course having lived through the 90's and those great years.

For your generation, it all starts today!

I just turned 22 so I understand completely what you are saying Nav.

I feel the same exact way. Most of my life has been watching a non playoff success Cowboys team.

Poor boy!! I am 36 and have enjoyed many playoff wins and 3 superbowl wins as well. This victory today means more than I think the others have. We need it..

At least nobody can accuse you guys of being banwagon jumpers. Hopefully today we all get to experience a playoff victory.

yeah, i was too young back then to really appreciate the game except for the scoreboard and cowboys win (i lived in AR at the time). Now, I can complain about the refs, understand some of the playcalling, and appreciate what a special team we have now....

I'm 24 but remember the Super Bowl years clearly(have been watching since 1988). However winning 3 Super Bowls will spoil the child.

Here's to hoping I get spoiled again this afternoon.

We're in the same boat. I'm 20. I was 9 and I don't even remember that win. I barely remember the first two 90s Super Bowls.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Youngsters.

Enjoy the success. Trust me. It comes and goes. The only real tangible to hold on to is your devotion to the franchise during the good and bad times because success can be fleeting. Being a true fan is an everlasting thing.

Go Cowboys. :toast:

Your lot in life is not all that unique.
I'm 38. I was 8 years old for SBXII, JAN 1978.

It was the first game I watched and also when I became a Cowboys fan.

I HAD TO WAIT TIL JAN 1993 FOR MY NEXT SUPERBOWL!

This is a great time for those of us who are in a situation where Parcells is the greatest coach we've ever seen in Dallas.

Let's go!

When did you become a fan? Because that's a pretty short sighted statement.

I'm 23. How much of Jimmy Johnson do you really think I could possibly remember?

You guys make me feel old at 33. I appreciated the Jimmy era, but I wasn't nearly into football as much as I am now.
