explain yourself. What type of running back do you need to fit in a system? Do you feel he's a better WR out of the BF ?????? I don't see what Jones could have done or has done to suggest anything of the sort nor do I know of us doing anything where it would suggest that Mendenhall wouldn't be better. Or did you mean it as Jones being a better compliment to MB3 so he fits our system betteR?

You don't have to be a detective to figure out that everyone involved with the offense thought that Felix would add something to Barber's contribution that Mendenhall wouldn't. Or to put it another way: Mendenhall was simply another Barber and we needed something else since we already had Marion. And that's good because with that kind of running style, you don't need a guy who has had his toughness and heart questioned like Mendenhall has.

The Cowboys wouldn't have done "due diligence" if they hadn't debated many times over who they would take if Stewart, Mendenhall & Felix were on the board when our turn came to pick. Also, despite all the mock drafts, I don't believe Jerry cared about Felix's connection to Arkansas. He wanted to use his first, first pick on the best player who could give us the biggest bang for the buck or "wow" player at a need position. Believe Hard Knocks edited out much of the discussion in the interest of saving time but ensured it showed Jerry made the final decision based on Garrett's input.

I personally initially wanted either Stewart (did worry about his toe) or Mendenhall. But as I begin to understand Garrett's immediate & long-range plans/goal for Felix (particularly since the Cowboys didn't draft a WR in the first round) & the drafting of Tashard Choice in the 4th round (probably MBIII's true backup), I'm very satisfied with Felix. I like his hard work ethic, love his personality & pleased he really wanted to be a Cowboy all along.
