I was right about taking Mark Clayton with the 20th pick

I was a big backer of Mark Clayton in this year's draft.. I was really really hoping that we would get him.. great talent, great character.. I was bummed but Im happy with Spears.. I think that he will be a good player for us..

Don't hold your breath. I don't owe you anything. I even clarified that I wasn't trying to show you up, simply surprised when I looked for your original "prediction" and found that instead. You should let it go. I didn't come after you. But if you want to stand by your posts, then explain why you deserve credit (the implied point of this thread) for predicting we'd regret passing on Clayton for Spears, when you posted things like this before the draft:

I did mispeak when I claimed to have said we would regret taking Spears over Clayton. I said I was torn, but that I really liked Clayton and wanted him to be a Cowboy badly.

If Sitting Bull is so interested in the bottom line instead of making somebody look stupid, he should have pointed to this post, which is the one to which I was initially referring. As I have said repeatedly, I liked Marcus Spears very much before the draft, have been a little disappointed in him this season, but am still very hopeful. My main point on the thread was that I saw Clayton coming on strong the last few games and remembered how much I wanted him to be a Cowboy and regretted us not getting him with the 20th pick. The truth is I never thought Spears would make it to the 20th pick.

Clayton no doubt would have been a good selection but so is Spears, Dallas was looking at getting this defense back to a dominate unit and so they select a player who I still think will help Dallas achieve that. Fact is every single draft you can go back and find some great players that you may have passed on and that goes for every single team out there. Dallas went into the draft with a plan and they took the guy who would help them.

oh, actually i think many people are pretty intent on making themselves look stupid. usually in a LOOK AT ME - I'M RIGHT I'M RIGHT thread they start to get some back-patting they must not have gotten enough of as a kid.

YOU started the whole I'M RIGHT and now you're wondering why someone who's proved you wrong did it? usually cause the I'M RIGHT crowd tends to be annoying as hell.

adamjt is right all the time, i never see him start self-congratulatory threads, however. to me that's the ultimate reason for the "slap down". well, that and you were pretty much busted. a simple "oops" and it's over, yet you seem to have some need to "dig" more.

I, too, was very high on Clayton. However, I don't think Spears is the wrong pick. It is easier to find WRs than 3-4 DL. When you have the opportunity to get a good solid DL, especially, DE, you take him.

Clayton is going to be a great one but there are always several good Wrs available in every draft.
