I wonder how much it would cost to get Mario Williams?

and of course it is totally ridiculous; even much more so in all ways then the hopes for getting Nmadi this year.

But.....

I wouldn't mind getting Osi Uminura (sp?) from the Giants.

Why is it ridiculous?

Was signing Nmadi? I think not and had we signed him and released Newman, we would have been a better team for it this season and going forward.

We tried and failed. IF Mario Williams fits a need and I think he does, I say yes for the right contract.

I believe he could play both 3-4 DE for us and 3-4 OLB in the right packages.

Mario Williams would certainly be less ridiculous than Asomugha given his position and his age.

That being said, the more cost effective move would be to go for Osi Umenyiora.

I think its ridiculous to even assume the Texans would give up Mario. That's not a shot at the OP or anyone but I can't see them letting him go. If you think the Nnamdi bidding war was tough wait until you see the Mario one. He's going to get a 70 to 90 million dollar contract after getting hurt this season.

If he doesn't agree to a new contract with Houston, it will take two firsts, and enough $$$ to make him the highest paid defensive player in the league.

So, not much. :D

Think Nmadi numbers. $60 million over 5 years.

No way Houston let's him go especially to us.

I agree, no way Houston lets him go, but i think there are a few teams higher up on their worry list than us if he did decide he wanted out, lol.

Ok so you want to sign a guy who has played 4 games in a 3-4 defense, was out for the year with an injury, and would have no position over here (plays ware's spot for houston), and this is all without mentioning the fact that houston has to let the guy that they passed up Vince Young and Reggie Bush for?

seriously? Can i get some of what ever you guys are on?

Osi and Ware are good friends and both went to Troy. Might be a bit of an insider connection there.

I sure wouldn't put that type of investment in a 3-4 DE, and he didn't play enough to prove he can play OLB.

He wants to come here. I am not guessing on that info.

Not sure he fits a 3-4 and he has been hurt a lot in recent years.

I love to think about a guy like Mario Williams here, but that's about all we can do is think about it. Houston can franchise him and control any direction he would go.

I think Osi and Dallas are a perfect fit. Right time and place for both teams.

At some point, don't the coaches just have to find a way to make it a fit? I tend to think that if a player can play, and it is just a game, then he can play no matter the scheme. I would sure like to see Osi wear the Cowboys' uniform.

He doesn't want to come here. That's not an assumption or speculation either.
