Phones are like graphic design programs have been advertised, once everyone gets use to it they make a new hot one (more expensive)and push it off like everyone just has to have one. Total BS. It's a phoneI disturbed by the trend with iPhone and Samsung making phones whose batteries you can't replace. I would never buy a car whose battery you can't replace, and I'm the same way with cell phones. I've replaced the battery in my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and it made a huge difference. Plus, I carry around an extra battery that's fully charged because you never know when your battery will be low and you don't have access to a place to charge it. If I notice my battery is low, it's easy to just change out to the other battery.
I'm a big fan of Samsung phones, but I plan to write them to tell them I won't buy any phone without a removable battery. I see that LG makes phones with removable batteries. I'll stick with my Note 4 for now, but if I decide to replace it, I'll google Android phones with removable batteries.
I understand they're going with non-removable batteries to make the phone thinner, but that's not the most important thing to me. My Note 4 is thin enough for me. I know there are charge devices you can get that are super batteries that let you charge your phone anywhere, but that's of little consolation if your phone's battery is weak and you have to use that thing all the time. For me it would be worth it to be able to buy a new battery when the one I'm using gets weak. This is a consumer market. Companies can compete best when they provide customers what they want.
OP needs to buy burner phones for current meth business. Amirite?
You pretty much nailed it from my take on it( although it's been reported that some models contain a smaller internal micro battery in an attempt to thwart such actions( tracking power is limited to like pings/ hits from cell relay towers you traverse, and depletes rather quickly) I recall a certain former speaker of the house(who theatrically lugged a huge gavel up some steps in high heels in pure comedic bizarro fashion) was pressing the issue for manufactures to implement non removable battery cell phones.Never knew they made phones without a removable battery. I've learned that a cell phone can still be tracked IF the battery is in the phone. IF you take the battery out, obviously it can't be tracked anymore. That's probably why they have phones with batteries that can't be removed. I have a Samsung s5 and the battery is removable. It's a nice phone, cost a lot, but it has a lot of bugs in it. Not too happy with Samsung thus far. To top it off, the phone broke 3 months after I picked it up at Verizon. Thank goodness I had insurance on it. I then received a refurbished phone. So technically, I paid for over $700 for a refurbished phone. Argh....
For the record, all batteries can be removed .. it's getting them back in after destroying the case and board that can be the problem
I trash on average about 3 a year, cracked screens, water damage,,, not so much water damage anymore since I sold my mad river canoe, but b-4 that, everything on me always went swimming with that thing.just get one of the cheap phones.
