I Won't Lie. I'm Still Mostly Checked Out Because of Last Year

Only two from the entire league get the privilege to play in a Super Bowl each and every year. I wonder how the fans of other teams deal with being left out? We got spoiled by the teams Coach Landry trotted out their SB or not we were winners then came Coach Johnson and we got really spoiled. Now we toil in infamy until it is our turn again. I think we have a culture being built as well as a team that will compete hard to get us back to the SB. My spirit has been renewed that is for sure. Cowboys!!!!!
Because it's been an expectation for very long that the Cowboys should be in the conversation of an NFC championship game or a Super Bowl and I think they've lost facts that the league has changed the way players move around the pay scales the salary cap things have changed a lot,

And I'm not saying I'm not frustrated I'm just saying that I understand I watch a lot of sports I don't see my teams winning a lot of championships therefore it's not just the Cowboys I mean I already said it what more proof do we need than the fact that we have three other professional teams in depth for you the Rangers the Stars and the Mavericks they have one each each That's three total championships and somehow Jerry Jones being picked on that dude has three alone the Cowboys had five we've been to what eight or nine Super Bowls we are just waiting our turn for the cycle to come back around.

Again, I'm letting them off the hook they made a lot of mistakes especially the first 10 years After the last championship Jerry Jones was horrible but the last 10 years he's not been so much the last five years things seem to be changing and really the last two off seasons maybe just maybe something good's gonna happen soon.. something good's gonna happen soon.

.

Until we get a proper GM i have very little faith we’ll see a different outcome this year compared to the last 30.
Why I I'm just really curious do you think that these proper DMS are not losing games losing seasons and having terrible football teams just to be fired and then the next GM also has losing teams and then he gets fired that's the only difference There are no perfect gems in this league that are winning on a regular basis a lot of Super Bowls that last one was Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots stacked it together and then you had Kansas City both in the AFC by the way everyone else has sporadic win record how they win the divisions and different people are ending up in the Super bowl all the time. How they win the divisions and different people are ending up in the Super Bowl all the time

I'm just trying to figure out how you think that having a regular GM that you think is better even though our GM is now about 35 years experience running a team running businesses he's been around football people enough you're telling me that he don't know anything and the people that help him which by the way the real GM here is Will Mcclay he doesn't have the title but he has to duties.

I mean I get what you're saying you need a scapegoat so Jerry can't fire himself but if he fired 10 GM's in that same span the last 30 plus years you it would have made you happier even if the result is the same the result was most likely gonna be the same because Jerry and Steven still own the team and I hate to break it to you even if this was the bigwigs the people at the very top they are basically owners They still have the final say in all the decisions it has to be ran up the flagpole and approved no matter what..

I want to make sure that you understand that I both understand what you're saying but I don't think you get help it would not have changed much it just fire these guys much more but I want to know why all the regular GMS on teams that have never won a Super Bowl I mean they just got fired they over and over and over the last 100 years and they still haven't won a Super Bowl yeah those regular GM is that ones we're talking about the ones that run the Washington and New York teams that the Cowboys have been stomping on for a decade you mean those GM's?

Into the narrative that the Cowboys beat up on weak teams all the time why can't Cowboys who have a terrible GM be beat up on regular teams ran by regular GM's I understand your thought process here your philosophy is flawed..

That is the only difference is those guys get fired more often and replaced so now fans feel better because people are constantly fired but the results seem to be the same I haven't seen a team that has changed their entire front office and coaching staff and all of a sudden they become great and all of a sudden win a Super Bowl that year because yes according to fans that's the blueprint just fire your GM on a regular basis get you a new coaching staff on a regular basis and it just leads to winning Or wait why are they being replaced all the time are you saying that they are bad as well?

Think about it deeply and then get back to me. lol

So when fans say they checked out. Stopped watching. Just check the scores. Or whatever else.

That tells me they are fair weather fans. Just want to watch when the are winning.

Even their worse defeats I watch until the end. The only time I missed games was when I lived in Ohio or Florida. Then in Florida I had friends and family would record games and mail them to me if not on in my area. Even if they lost, I still watched it.

So if you checked out, do you pay attention to what has been happening. Better coaches, better FA's signed, a great draft with very high potential.
All I see is still bashing of the team and FO and Jerry, same old stuff. Not that it is not warranted. But it has been different. Jerry and the FO has pretty much kept quiet. But some refuse to admit that.

yep, you either are a fan and watch almost every game, or you are casual and watch when they win. Not much in between.

I can play that game.... Browns are behind and werent they an original team? so....... The bears are 4 behind...... so
The NFL was founded in 1920 The Browns were part of a rival league, The All American Football Conference, and began play in 1946 When that league folded, the Browns joined the NFL in 1949. No doubt you remember when the owner moved the team to Baltimore in 1995, and the Browns lay dormant until 1999 when the NFL brought the team back to life. The Ravens are the original Browns, although the league let Cleveland keep all of the records and accomplishments for the history books.

LOL, I know.. I get it. Just pulling at strings/busting b's. The fact we still have to go back 30 years to feel good about our fanhood though... you gotta admit, it sucks. Regardless of other team's history.

The title says it all. In all my years as a fan, I've never seen a hire as bad as Eberflus. And everything that happened because they refused to fire him until it was too late just kinda made me lost interest. I didn't choose to be unenthused; the vibe from last year just makes me very skeptical about this year even tho BeeberFluff is no longer in Dallas.

Something about last season still has me mostly checked out as a fan.

Anyone else feel similarly?
Totally understandable to be honest. I was checked out for two years now if I am being honest and when Cowboys to bad then I start losing interest in football. I however am looking forward to this season. I believe in this coaching staff because Shotty didn't hire friends. He actually hired people he thought was best for the position and this time the complete team not just offense. Yeah I am looking at you Jerry. I also know I could be drinking kool-aid that is about to expire lol. I never let myself get to high because as you know at some point they always let us down.

That’s how I feel after watching Dak crumble in that Packers playoff game. Just resigned to the fact he can’t perform with the big boys. Doesn’t matter what the defense has done. We saw the defense hold SF pretty good in one of those playoff games and Dak just couldn’t get it together.

There are a ton of fair weather fans here. Most I would venture to guess.

I think you haven't paid any attention to the monstrous upgrades on D.

No lol , jerry letting shotty hire the DC, and then he hired Parker, got a good safety and some others in draft.some more in FA, mostly defense, and I am excited for this season. More so in a long time.

It may not be what I think it will, but I still am excited for what MAY be.

For the first time in forever, the moves made sense. Not sure about the 3rd for BJones, but if he's back from injury, worth it.
