During Sunday morning’s news round ups across the national space NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted that it is his understanding that the “earliest” Dak could return is October 16th on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles game in question is still three weeks from now; it is the Cowboys Week 6 matchup. At present time, Philadelphia seems like the top threat to take Dallas’ NFC East title from a year ago so it is obviously an important game, and therefore one where Dak Prescott will be needed.

If this is true, why wasn't Dak placed on short term (4 weeks) IR? The extra spot could have been used to keep a recently cut player like John Ridgeway, especially now that Quinton Bohanna is questionable to play due to a banged up neck injury. Same should have been done to Connor McGovern with his high ankle sprain and Jayron Kearse with his leg injury. Poor team management.

He was kept off of IR so that he could practice. They want him there doing everything he can do until the grip strength returns. The minute he can grip the ball, he will be back in game mode: Until then he will practice and be with the team

Nah he wants him in there ASAP as Jerry has a plan........and its called bury Prescott to the fans!!!!!
So far he's right on target as with 1 more injury or a couple of more stinkers Dak is history!!!!!!
P.S.Wonder why they didn't spend that surplus cap cash?????

Dak is likely working hard to show how tough he is and willing to play through pain etc… the problem is even if he was 100% he looks lost and indecisive and mechanically compromised out there.

What is he going to look like if he can’t grip and control the ball naturally due to pain and discomfort?

Week 1 was a perfect crap-storm. Shatter the QB’s confidence. Injure the QB. Lose the game. Trot out the same over-exposed and predictable offense.

When Dak does come back— he will have a ton of pressure on his shoulders. No excuses for him. He has to deliver the goods bc he took the bag.

I just don’t see him and Kellen as capable of fixing what has been broken at this point. I hope they prove me wrong

Probably not the best game for him to return it’s going be a hornets nest in Philly. It’s going to be a real hornets nest in Dallas if he doesn’t play well. Philly is probably still ticked off at us for putting up over 50 with our starters against their backups in the season finale last year.
