Me thinks Jerry would rather him start his next game away from home so if he stinks it up folks won't throw towels at him. PS. If (big IF I know) Cooper Rush keeps winning then Dad should keep sitting. You don't pull a hot hand. Think back to when Tony was healthy but Dak was on a roll and Tony rode the pine. Can't do it for one and not the other.

If they did that he wouldn't be able to practice or be on the field helping the other qbs. They were thin in the oline, they need McGovern to be back as soon as possible. He could be ready soon. Kearse could be back. Excellent team management. They know what they are doing.

LOL, yep....excellent team management, amazing personnel knowledge and development and incredible team building with vision to the future ...all come to mind when we think of the past three decades from this delirious duo. We are so lucky.

If Ian is right, which I highly doubt, but if he is that would tick me off. He should have been placed on IR if that were the case. Zero reason not to. It may have cost them a potentially good player at a position where they desperately need one.

During Sunday morning’s news round ups across the national space NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted that it is his understanding that the “earliest” Dak could return is October 16th on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles game in question is still three weeks from now; it is the Cowboys Week 6 matchup. At present time, Philadelphia seems like the top threat to take Dallas’ NFC East title from a year ago so it is obviously an important game, and therefore one where Dak Prescott will be needed.

That’s the one I would be targeting. The Cowboys will need all hands on deck for that matchup.

If this is true, why wasn't Dak placed on short term (4 weeks) IR? The extra spot could have been used to keep a recently cut player like John Ridgeway, especially now that Quinton Bohanna is questionable to play due to a banged up neck injury. Same should have been done to Connor McGovern with his high ankle sprain and Jayron Kearse with his leg injury. Poor team management.

Easy answer: Jerry needed the PR to try and keep fans hopes up so he doesn't lose ticket sales.

I guess RUSHing Dak back isn't feasible.

Sorry, Jerry. You gave him the contract, now you get to deal with the backlash if Rush continues to play well and Dak stinks it up.

I'm really starting to wonder if that guy is a cowboys employee. He's said delusional stuff lol

That poster, even more so then some others, allows his Cowboys bias to seep into all of his takes and ends up looking foolish for it.

He has chosen to sacrifice his credibility when talking football in the name of the Cowboys.

Eagles have a bye week the week after facing Dallas so they will be sending everyone knowing they have a 2 weeks to rest up after that game. If Jerry is smart he holds Dak back until the Lions game but all that depends on how Dallas does in their next 3 games.

I will be surprised if he doesn't play vs Rams at the latest.
I say he is these articles are all sheer guessing, Noone truly knows. I also say its the rams. Maybe he suits up and gets some late snaps like a 3rd preseason game against the rams...that would be my plan but hey. Dak will come back when he can grip and rip.. heck that could suddenly be next week lol the reason hes not on IR is this , he can play immediately when hes ready, no ramping up.

Why is it a dumb statement do you actually think Cooper Rush gives us a better chance in that game?
I bet he does many here and many all across SM are saying so. its out of control

Its actually insane. lol.

Almost as insane as someone trying to justify saying Parsons was a horrible pick.

Because Jerry's plan of keeping him on the roster is the better MARKETING approach. Keep the fans all exacited about the possiblity that Dak will be back (at least the fans who aren't actually paying attention to his performance). The best football strategy is secondary. This is a circus, not a competition for him.

Dak needs to get back in time for us to determine if we need to find his replacement in the draft next year.
