Anyone reading about that super volcano in Italy? Crazy. Ground in that area is rising by the foot. Best case scenario is it simmers down like the early 1980’s incident which rose the ground 11 feet before going dormant again. Worse case scenario is they have another eruption like in 1500’s that created another mountain in the bay.

That's crazy. I have been in the area before, not that town specifically, but within a few miles of it on a trip to Iceland. It's a crazy landscape - you can hardly look in any direction without seeing a volcano. The whole island is chalk full of them - like, 130 in the country.

I hope everyone makes it out safe and no damage is done.

Several eruptions lately, just read about one in Japan......

Japan volcano: Plumes of smoke as new island emerges after eruption

Drone footage from Japan has captured a rare moment, when a volcanic eruption gives birth to a new island.
The unnamed undersea volcano started its latest eruptions on 21 October.
In early November, the island measured roughly 100 metres (328 feet) in diameter and was as high as 20 metres (66 feet) above the sea, according to Yuji Usui, an analyst from Japan Meteorological Agency’s volcanic division.
He added that the new island, half a mile off the southern coast of the island of Iwo Jima, had already shrunk because its “crumbly” formation made it vulnerable to erosion.
