IMO he just doesnt FIT anymore. Cant see him as a 4-3 outside backer,...neither does the team as they have now switched him to end. Cant see him as an end either. No way, no how.

Quite a few 3-4 teams were interested in him last year. I myself would ask for a 5th but settle for a sixth. Better than getting nothing at all. I would then take that pick and draft an O.L.B who can really RUN and use him to shore up our depth.

In the end the trade benefits all parties involved. Helps the kid because he can go to a 3-4 team who can hopefully use his skills,....Gives us a backup linebacker thats a better fit with 4-3 experience who can also be used on special teams.

I agree... It would have been nice if he had flashed something for us last year. He was a 4th rounder on "potential" but none of that has materialized.

During the draft the value of picks goes sky high. We more than likely won't get anything for him.

The best we can hope for is that puts on 25lbs and becomes a decent situation edge rusher.

But if he and McSurdy are the only misfits for us transitioning from the 3-4 back to the 4-3, I'd be fine with that.

problem with that is most teams know he couldn't even become active last year. Its a perception league.

Amazing how he doesn't fit at end when he was a highly recruited DE coming out of high school and had his best years at WF playing end. His natural position has always been end. Wake Forrest moved to a 3-4 late in his career and forced him to linebacker. He's better playing straight line up field than he is trying to read/diagnose and chase in space.

And what exactly do you think the market is for a former Day 3 pick who was injured most of his rookie year? Yeah, Im sure 31 teams are working the phones trying to get in on that action.

Didn't they just announce he is being switched to DE? I thought I heard that.

Hey,...no reason for all the thinly veiled sarcasm. We just disagree is all. I myself dont think he FITS the team anymore is all,...you do. So we disagree,..so what. But the BIG thing is,....in the end I of coarse will be PROVEN CORRECT, at which time I will direct you to this post. :lmao2:

I dont think he even makes the roster this year.

Not in the NFL I havent. None of us have in fact. I wont argue this issue anymore after this post, not worth the time,....not exactly like were talking about some big time passrusher or something here. Were talking about a guy who MIGHT someday be some type of rotational guy at BEST. As it sits right now he about the last player on the d line that we can expect to get any playing time. Were talking about a bottom of the depth chart guy here. Easily replaced and not worth arguing about.

They drafted him as a pass rusher. In Kiffin's scheme the weakside guy isn't doesn't even have much run stopping responsibility. It's very similar to a 3-4 weakside LB. And they drafted him to be a strong side guy because they thought he had the strength to set the edge. If he can play (set the edge and rush the passer) then he fits just fine regardless of scheme.

Yep, JG announced it and he can definitely play DE and be very good at it.
