Couldn't disagree more. He's 6-0 222lbs. That's about 20lbs lighter than our average FB.

But as we've all seen, Barber plays larger than his 6-0 222lb frame. He's a beast and he relishes contact.

I've brought this up a few times and never get this kind of response.

We could also train some of our TEs and LBs to fill the goal line FB role like the Pats have done.

Phillips could fill that role as a FB on the goal line. I would like to see Jay Ratliff as a FB on the goal line too. Imagine a LB, CB, or S trying to take on Ratliff at the point of attack as a lead blocker.

I like the idea of Barber at FB. He would be another playmaker that had to be accounted for by the D. Right now Deon Anderson scares nobody.

I also like the idea of going BIG on goal line and short yardage. Rat as a goal line FB would be awesome. He would absolutely destroy LBers.

45 million for a fullback?

Umm.. no thanks.

Just cut him and get it over with already.

He provides no more than what Choice does.

He used to be a beast and he used to relish contact. I didn't seem him run too many guys over or move too many piles this year. We've got 5 year out of him, and the way he plays (or played) that's probably about all we can expect from him

If you are talking about a play making FB ..... then he could do that.

If you are talking about a lead blocking FB ....... not a chance.

Barber is not a big hitter ....... he is a vicious one.

So were the players they played against.

If Barbers heart was in it he is definately man enough to handle the job.Small or not. Let him gain some of the weight he lost back.

Lost in this thread is the starting fullback, Deon Anderson. He's very good at what he does, and he is a big reason the running game is as good as it is. He's also very good in pass protection and is one of our best special teams guys as well. Plus, if you ever get a chance to meet him, he's one hell of a nice guy.

I would rather we put feelers out for teams interested in Barber and see if we can get O-line help or a kicker + draft picks in return.
