If Aikman was the current QB of the Cowboys this past season in his prime, how do you think he would fare with these receivers and what do you think his opinion would be of them?
Dez would be cut tomorrow. Aikman was a timing QB. The 5th time he threw a pick because Dez ran the wrong way he'd explode.

Romo dinked and dunked his way to a high QB rating against GB in 2014, and as usual in the do or die games, the offense struggled putting points on the board. That offense should have easily put up over 30 points on the board but left points on the field leaving the defense to shoulder most of the blame.
Another brain dead troll who didn’t watch the game, I see. The Cowboys only passed the ball 18 times the entire afternoon. They decided to go with a ground based attack, which mostly worked until Murray fumbled it away. How so many people imagine different realities in their mind and try to pass it off as real life is baffling to me.

But if you have someone that is not putting out or loafing, blow them up or have them go play flag football. Barry won that SB and then the team went haywire and Troy was not please with him either. So his way was not the way either. Some players play better, I know I enjoyed getting fused at, that meant I let my teammates down and would not do it again, and my game was out of this world after getting jumped on by my high school coach.

My point was, it's no exact science, I coach HS football, and our last head coach was lost his players, yelling all the time, then you have some that didn't mind it. In the NFL, you have to be more conscious of it because you're talking to another grown man in most cases. That's why most successful leader on the teams are the one that lead by example, not by busting teammates chops. Example, Swearinger in Washington this season caused controversy doing just that.

The carried the team aspect is where I disagree. Romo had two teams that could have done something but they didn't in the play-offs. This is a quarterback game, and while he saw some mistakes by his teammates in the Giant game, he still could have won that. But didn't. The Green Bay game is the same, except Romo stunk the first half. Rodgers was off and if Romo had been on that day he should have posted a bunch of points on Green Bay. But didn't.

While there is a 2004 page argument over "The Catch/No Catch, they needed a yard and needed to run time off.

Maybe what we all missed was the ball should never have been thrown.

First off, what's up Twodeep, I wondered where you ended up, a blast from back in day at the old ranch.
Yes he mainly carried the team for the most part, Tony ran for his life, kept plays alive, made plays off schedule as most of his teams lack a run game, or an offensive line to protect him. He may have had one team that ever had a defense and that was slightly above average. Romo could never have an off day, if he had an off day , we got beat, because there wasn't another part of the team that could carry us. That's carrying a team

No I live in San Antonio. My father was from Richlands (outside of Jacksonville) and I have lived in Snow Hill and Goldsboro.

Ok, you were on the eastern side. I am in the triad but still like the Eastern bbq more than the western. Have you heard of Parkers bbq in Wilson NC, love the mustard base slaw. I have heard of Richlands, my cousin's wife is from there.

Agree can go both ways, my high school coach was old school and he was like Mike Ditka or the Tuna. I was one that didn't mind. Kind of like in college basketball the difference in Dean Smith (UNC) and Bobby Knight (Indiana). Both are great but would have wanted my son (if had one) to play for Dean, even though both would still be winners.

Are you mixing up the 2014 GB game and the 2016 game? Because Romo didn't stink in the first half of the 2014 game.

No. I am not mixing them up. Romo left points on the field the first half.

Romo>aikman

This is hilarious. Going to guess you never actually grew up watching Aikman play. Or you are just comparing pointless stats. Romo played in a pass happy league. Aikman didn't. Romo is a stat padding loser. Aikman actually won. More to playing sports than just filling a stat sheet.

Aikman would not play Wally Cleaver on the football field. With him, Elliott, Dez , and this O-line; they would definitely be a better team. He did not settle for mediocrity and endorsement opportunities. He wanted to compete for championships.

To act like they even had close teams with talent and coaching is even more hilarious

Yeah, but the QB in the 2016 actually had a poor first half. Romo didn't in 2014.

And I was not talking about 2016 either. Romo was not sharp in 2014 coming out of the gates. He played his usual slow start game he was famous for in the last years of his career. Fact is he played a pretty poor game a together. They scored 21 points for the entire game.

He had a 140+ QB rating, and he played a pretty poor game altogether? :rolleyes:They had a missed field goal, a fumble on a play that should have been a touchdown, and a controversy on a play on 4th down that also took away points. None of that was in Romo's control, so considering that, and that they were playing a solid GB defense in GB, 21 points isn't bad. It was a much better performance than the one in 2016 where they only put up 31 points against a much worse GB defense at home, with nothing really bad outside the QB's control I could think of besides 1 really rare penalty being called.

What in my post was incorrect? Was Romo not throwing short passes all game with the exception of of the last 4th and 2 play? Did Romo not have a high passer rating? Did the offense not leave points on the field instead of putting them on the scoreboard when they had the opportunity (Murray fumbled, Bailey missed FG, Dez dropped 4th down pass).

I think you are trying to read my post as a slam against Romo, but thanks for calling me a brain dead troll. Welcome to ignore.
