If available, would you trade Romo for Cutler?

I wonder.

At this very moment, I'd lean towards taking Cutler

Last year?...No way

you take Cutler and watch him have a diabetes attack or whatever you call them on 3rd down in the Texas heat. remember he had 4 straight chances to win the division and failed last season.

Damn good question. Cutler has a cannon for an arm and will be great. Romo has the it factor and an arm that isn't too shabby - but he takes too many chances and makes mental mistakes in December. I honestly don't know. I guess I would roll with Romo but not by much.

Romo got labeled as not being able to win in December (5-8) and people have run with it.

Cutler inherited a team that won their division in 05; the team was 7-4 under Plummer and finished the season 9-7 under Cutler, knocking them out of the playoffs. Last year he only needed to win 1 of the final 3 games of the season and they would be in but he couldn't do it. The Broncos have not been to the playoffs under his watch and have gone 5-9 in December. Throw in the health concerns with diabetes and I just don't know that I could take Cutler over Romo.

Nope... and in my opinion it's not closer than you may think.

Not in a million years! Romo is one of the best QBs in the league folks, don't let a few Nattering Nabobs Of Negativity fool you with their criticism of him, the guy can flat out play football! With Owens gone you will see him pressing less to make plays and making fewer mistakes in the process.

Cutler is a good player but Romo is a great one. Up until the last few weeks of the season, Romo was the highest rated QB in NFL history! The poor games we had against the Stealers, Ravens and Eagles dropped him down some. What Romo has been able to accomplish in a system that is not designed to give him great stats (like a WCO) is amazing!

With a healthy hand and O-Line as well as a better running game with Felix back in the lineup, Romo is going to have a fantastic season.

I wouldn't trade Romo for Cutler, I think they are about the same, player wise. I will say that if it did happen I wouldn't be mad because, like I said, they are about the same player wise. Both started in 2006 with their teams.

Off the field Romo is twice the guy Cutler is. He goes out of his way to help strangers, shows kindness ect..
He also is in the headlines with j.Simpson too so that could be a wash. Cutler is no where to be found off the field and one can argue that that's better. Plus Cutler is 3 years younger then Romo.

Why make a lateral move? They are the same person. Both have done nothing.

Except play really well in the league for a couple of consecutive years.

I would just like to reiterate, this is a guy that hasn't led the Broncos to the playoffs. A guy that never had a winning season at Vanderbilt. A guy that hasn't had a winning season in the NFL. Everywhere Cutler has gone, he has lost. Blame it on whatever you will. I will stick with Romo.

Where are the consecutive years at? He played okay his first half season, played great when he had a record breaking HOF WR, and a ton of defenses who didn't know Garrett or his scheme.

Then completely sucked last season, he was confused, unprepared, careless, bad mechanics, bad decision making, inaccurate, he excelled at turning the ball over, he freezes up in big games like McNabb, but at least McNabb knows how to win in the play offs.

I don't see what you all see.

I'm sorry, making the playoffs is overrated.

Even if Cutler were better than Romo (which he isn't IMO), I would not make the move. The one thing this team needs right now is continuity. We don't need another QB coming in that needs to learn the offense and get on the same page with the rest of the players. Without Romo this team isn't going anywhere in the nearby future.
