If available, would you trade Romo for Cutler?

Where are the consecutive years at? He played okay his first half season, played great when he had a record breaking HOF WR, and a ton of defenses who didn't know Garrett or his scheme.

Then completely sucked last season, he was confused, unprepared, careless, bad mechanics, bad decision making, inaccurate, he excelled at turning the ball over, he freezes up in big games like McNabb, but at least McNabb knows how to win in the play offs.

I don't see what you all see.

Romo? He started slow his first year, but was playing great by the end of that season. '07 he was an MVP-candidate if it weren't for Brady's monster year. Last year, he was leading the league in QB rating, and playing great, through 12 games. He scores twice as often as he throws a pick, he gets his team in position to win almost every game. You'll have to point out a single big game he's frozen in b/c our recent playoff losses weren't his fault.

I don't know what you see when you're watching Romo, but I think you're crazy if you don't recognize that he's a gifted player.

I'll spare you a ton of games, but I'll point to the most recent one where Romo put up a whopping 0 TDs on offense and about 183 yds total. I think that HOF wr had like 103 of those yards but I'm sure those yards will go to some other great WR next season.

Point blank, without the HOF wr, Romo is ordinary. I'd love to continue this wonderful conversation, I'll be hear all year to witness the great depression for the Cowboy fan base when they finally find out that the problem with this team starts with Garrett and ends with Romo. Good day

Why make a lateral move? They are the same person. Both have done nothing.

Who exactly do you want at QB Clove???

You constantly complain about Romo, now you are saying that you wouldnt want Cutler either. You say that neither have done anything, but they are both young QBs.

Using your rational, you would not have wanted Peyton Manning because he did not win JACK for season after season after season in Indy.

If you only want a QB "that has done something", then you are saying you only want a seasoned vet. No Romo, no Cutler, no Cassell, no Phillup Rivers, no Matt Ryan, no Joe Flacco, ect................

And I disagree with your assesment that Romo has done nothing........HE DID LEAD HIS TEAM TO A DIVISION TITLE!!!!

You know, the Buffalo Bills always have openings for new fans. It is evident from your posts that you are a Terrell Owens fan more than a Dallas Cowboys fan. You even separated yourself from "the Cowboy fan base" in the post quoted above.

Good luck with your new team. :bills: I guess you should change your name to "TOlove".

Romo career numbers: (I see a dam good QB)

Completion Percentage..........63.6
TD/INT Ratio (81/46).............1.76
Passer Rating.......................94.7
Total Yards..........................10,562
Yards per Game (39 starts).....270.8

Give me a QB with these career numbers who is only 28 years old and I can build a franchise around that guy!!!

I see no reason to even speculate on trading Romo right now. He has things he needs to improve on, but he is one of the top QB's in the league and still has a ton of upside.

However I will say I think the Donkos organization must be incredibly stupid to even contemplate trading Cutler right now. If its true McDaniels would rather have Matt Cassell than Cutler, its safe to say he's going to be the next Belichick assistant to be a massive failure as a HC.

This guy needs more than glasses. Unless they can give him a brain at 50% off he will still be lost.

Just another TO fan that thinks they have to hate Romo because they like (or love) TO.

Take a type 1 diabetic over our Pro Bowl QB who is almost an auto 300 yard multiple Touchdown passing day when ever he steps on the field?

If Romo continues to be a celebrity QB, then yes, I take Cutler without question. If he returns to his old ideals that took him from a extremely talented, but raw QB to a very explosive QB AND he works on not being a turnover machine. (ie lose the nonchalant attitude about them) then I keep Romo.

Cutler has all the tools. The only thing I don't like about Cutler is his ego is even larger than Elways. Elway couldn't win until he figured it that it wasn't all about him. Cutler will be the same.

That said, Cutler has the potential to be the better QB and to me it's not even debatable.

btw, to bring up the fact that he is diabetic is stupid. This guy is a professional athlete. If properly taken care of, it should have almost zero effect on him on game day. I'm more that sure that the team he is on will make sure it's properly taken care of.

If I just had to pick who I wanted as the face of my franchise, putting their skills aside, I would pick Romo without a doubt. People complain Romo is not a team leader, Cutler is just horrible. Cutler does not have the respect of his teammates and is very immature.

Now considering their skills, I don't think there is much of a difference. I would say Romo is better because he has played much better teams in his career and has had greater success.

Anyone who takes Cutler over Romo is a serious hater.

After observing the antics of Cutler the last couple of years, I think I'd keep Romo.

Cutler may have more upside due to the youth factor, but I like Romo, the person, better.

Nope I wouldn't. There is only one QB in the league not named Peyton Manning or Tom Brady that I'd take over Tony Romo and his name isn't Jay Cutler. I've said who before so I don't think I need to say it again.

CUTLER, BRONCOS NOT ON SAME PAGE

Posted by Aaron Wilson on March 11, 2009, 9:00 a.m.

The divide between the Denver Broncos and starting quarterback Jay Cutler is widening following a “contentious” conference call Monday that was supposed to mend fences in this high-profile dispute, according to Bill Williamson of ESPN.com.

Cutler, who’s angry about being involved in trade discussions, and the team now have even bigger problems. According to the article, the phone call only made matters worse.

Per Williamson, the Broncos acted “as if [Cutler] was the one who started the trade talks and informed him that they have no plans of trading him, but that they can trade him at any time.”

Williamson described the problem between the two sides as a “major trust issue” in an “already tense situation.”

Next Monday will be an important day in this saga because that’s when the Broncos launch their offseason conditioning program.

According to a source close to Cutler, he hasn’t decided if he’ll be there or not. A no-show could prompt more consideration of relaunching trade discussions.

REPORT: CUTLER SNUBBED BOWLEN

Posted by Mike Florio on March 10, 2009, 8:18 p.m.

CBS4 in Denver reports that Broncos owner Pat Bowlen tried to call disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler twice last week.

And that Cutler snubbed him. Twice.

CBS4 also reports that the much-anticipated face-to-face meeting between Cutler and team officials was replaced by a conference call conducted on Monday.

Coach Josh McDaniels and Bowlen reportedly were on the line with Cutler.

CBS4, citing unnamed sources, reports that the tone of the conversation “was not exactly ‘make nice.’” Instead, coach Josh McDaniels made it clear “how the team will be run, and how Cutler was expected to fit into that plan.”

McDaniels also told Cutler that the Broncos won’t trade him, but then McDaniels left the door open by reportedly saying “all players are being constantly evaluated and could be traded if management thinks it will make the team better.”

LOL. I love that Denver and the genius they hired are smashing their season to pieces before it even starts by pissing off the most important piece of their team.

Who does he think he's just going to replace Cutler with at this point if this crap were to come to that, which I honestly don't think it will?

Broncos franchise deserve all the mess they are in right now. I hope it gets worse for them too. I had much respect for Shanahan...

When you have Cutler you don't go after an undrafted, unproven, unknown like Cassel. And if you do backstab your franchise QB, you best make sure you get who you wanted. Apparently, they are morons.

Tell me that Cutler is not starting QB material... I remember having a conversation with some Steelers fans (during the middle of the year) talking about how much better their offense would be with a QB like Cutler. I don't really see how the Broncos coaches/staff thinks he is the problem.

Or sees a guy with more upside.
