If Dallas had kept Amari Cooper?

Coulda....shoulda....woulda. Let's just say Dallas never let Cooper go. Regardless in how he's doing in Cleveland now. Don't you guys think that Cooper being here opens it up for other receivers? They were the number 1 offense last season. What's different? No Cooper and yes Dak has been out. They let Cooper go with no real backup plan to replace him. Without a doubt, Dallas needs to go a WR in the draft. That's the difference in making this offense great. It's not an inept Dak. He had 37 tds to 10 ints. That's not bad at all.

They would be incredible had they kept Cooper.

Now if Cooper really did call Dak the Black Kirk Cousins then I can see why they decided to move on. Has that ever been confirmed or is it just a rumor?

I have no problem with dropping him but the process that we went through when we dropped him was horrible. We barely got a return in compensation and we also should have gotten someone to replace him instead of relying on CD and an injured Gallup to step up to the plate. Not to mention Cedrick Wilson leaving. If we had traded or drafted a WR, I don’t think there would be as much noise about Amari’s trade.

I agree that production is down with Cooper gone, I will also say you can't everyone now days.

The fact that no one even attempted to deny this rumor and everyone was attempting to just let it die in silence shows that there is some truth to the statement.

Stop it! That "what if" game is poison to what is and what will be.

I realy hope that is a rumor, but if not......men can look eye-to-eye to work things out for the betterment to the team. No need for a Draymond Green move. But I do remember, when asked about WR drops and mainly referrring to Dez......Dak said "I guess I have to catch it too." (Bad move).

Like I said, it helps the other receivers open up.

Yes, agree no doubt he would help. But I don't think so much as to be that huge of a difference for the salary cap hit.
I mean fans use the salary cap hit against other players, so why does it not fly against Cooper as well.

We will see now that Dak is back, and how it goes from here. Now could he have helped Cooper, yes. But the again would have they changed the offense and forced the ball to him, even in double coverage. I still think it was the correct move, but do I wish they could have somehow kept him without the future cap hit. yes.

No.
We are fine and would be no different with or without him.
His production had dropped off the past 1 1/2 years he was here.

As did his targets, although we are somewhat in agreement. I dont think its the lack of Cooper that hurts this offense. I think defenses caught on to KM and force us to be patient and methodical.

Problem with keeping cooper was you had to commit to three years at 20 million each unless you moved him. I think the FO was worried they’d have to sacrifice a defensive piece to do that.
Bingo. The issue with Cooper wasn't this year, its the money he commands through 2024. The Cowboys have some monster deals in the pipeline to give out if they want to keep the band together.

How bout Dallas go get Jeudy from Denver?

This is absolutely false. This offense isn't even close to being the same without him. We traded for him for a reason. He came in and turned a 3-5 team into a division winner and divisional round playoff team. When he's on the field, every single receiver out there is boosted up. Teams had to focus on him and double him. This freed up Lamb, Gallup, Schultz, Wilson and whomever else. He was their security place.

Did you see the games he missed last year? Offense was putrid.

The guys we have now aren't good enough to elevate anyone. Lamb is a #2 at best. Maybe even a 3.
