If Dallas loses to Atlanta

I truely believe that Parcells coaching job is on the line. Heck, Parcells might not even come back if Dallas collapses again. Last year, the coaches had the excuse of losing both offensive tackles...but this year we have been mainly healthy. If Parcells cant get his team up this week then its obvious to me that he no longer inspires players to play for him. I am causiously optimistic about the Atl. game but am prepared for the fall-out if we lose.

It may be a little short-sighted, but I just dont see Parcells being fired if we dont make the playoffs.

We had a huge collapse last year and he got a $1 Million Raise.

If we dont make the Playoffs, if he wants, Parcells will be back and may even have his salary increased.

Anything is possible in this day and age, but I would definitely figure the scenario where they "agree" on him resigning would be much more likely in that kind of situation.

Also, regardless of the Falcons game outcome, we of course would still have to see how the season played out.

I don't think JJ will get rid of BP. I think BP would leave on his own if we collapse down the stretch.

I have held to my statement about BP since the beginning of the year. He needs to at worst make the NFC championship game to deserve another year in Dallas.

Not prediciting what Jerry Jones will do, only he knows. Just my opinion of what BP needs to accomplish this year. To be truthful, that is not even that great of an accomplishment at this point.

Dallas was in excellent position for a first round bye, but probably blew it against the Saints. That means Parcells just needed to get one playoff win at home in the four years he has had in Dallas.

All is still possible, lets see how this team responds. This could be the kind of year that cements BPs legend or detracts from it. Lets watch and see.

My only apprehension about Bill leaving isn't due to thinking he's doing an awesome job, but due to not trusting Jerry in finding the right replacement.

Just a feeling but I think Parcells will be involved with finding his replacement when he does retire.

You guys are forgetting Bill's ego here. If we don't make the play-offs, or slide in as a WC and lose, Bill will walk. Bill will point the finger squarely at Jerry for signing TO and disrupting his team. The next HC, either Fisher or Jimmy, will march in and take this team to the Big Dance.

Jimmy's a pipe dream and I doubt Fisher is going anywhere now that Young is starting and winning games for them.

It's possible. But who?

He's had another trouble finding assistants.

So the consummate Texan, Jerry Jones, comes into the NFL light by firing one of the four greatest coaches in NFL history (Halas, Brown,Lombardi, and Landry), pays for it for years, then makes the same mistake again by firing another legendary coach. Yeah, I can see that PR nightmare easily....for the Saints or Cardinals.

No, Jerry won't make that mistake again. JMO.

And I'm not saying they will ask him to resign. This team has gotten better each year and they will be better next year. Why would you call for the resignation of a coach who appears to have found the answer at QB after a very long search, upgraded the talent of the club tremendously, and will likely take another team to the playoffs again this year.

Parcells and Jones took the longterm approach to rebuilding this team and they appear to be perhaps a couple of months to reap the reward. They should be even more legitimate contenders for the SB next year at the latest IMO. I think they have a chance this year although the loss of Ellis and the inexperience of Romo and our younger defensive players may preclude that.

You just can't take a weekly approach to winning in the NFL.

worse case scenario is that Jones promotes Zimmer to head coach when Parcells leaves.

I'm a huge Bill Parcells fan and want him to continue to coach the Cowboys as long as he and Jerry can make it work.

Since Bills' arrival we've greatly improved the talent on the team and for the first time in his tenure it appears we have a QB of the future, however I don't think 6 games into the young mans' career is the right time to put the coachs' job on the line.:star:

The Sky is falling- the sky is falling "chicken little"
It's amazing what affect one lost has. If we win the next two games, Parcells will imortalized again.

The who I don't know but I think Bill will be part of the process in finding a HC. I don't think Jerry would want to tear down and start all over with a different offense and defensive systems after the time and money that has been invested. Just as Kraft did not want to start from scratch when Bill left NE

I doubt it Jerry stated he wants BP back next year, he usually doesnt out on subjects like that unless he has made his mind up.

Jerry Jones is not an idiot, he recognizes the fact that Bill has built a championship calibre core here. There has not been reason to fire someone who took this team out of the basement.

It's amazing. Some of you here actually think the "Sky is Falling".

Sunday night was one game. You guys will beat Atlanta and roll into the playoffs. The Cowboys needed may have need this loss to get their heads straight going in to the strech run. One game that got away from you means nothing.

Come on guys. Where is the faith? BP is taking names. You'll no doubt get back on track this week. :p: Even if you lose, you still are not out of it. Philly has no chance.

The Cowboys will prevail. You have a great tradition. I still think it will happen. :starspin

Here is how you beat Atlanta. Stop Vick from running and make him pass.
With the LBs & CBs you have that should be easy. Vick is no Brees and Mora ain't Payton.

If the Saints did it twice, you can too. :hammer:
