Murray has been such a two-edged sword since being drafted. The day he was selected, I was pumped about bringing him into Dallas. He has such potential. But injuries have marred his tenure here.

However, we are now seeing what excited me most about Murray over the last few games.

I have to admit the OL has played much better. Something I did not believe could be possible. So I was wrong there.

However, Murray makes them look good. Especially when Freddy gets to the second level and seals the linebackers from the4 backside and allows Murray to take it to the DBs.

I am still not convinced this team and this defense can slow down Philly. I even posted in the three inch headlines thread I think Dallas will lose. But I also think this line can open holes and Murray will show his true worth this game.
Yea we can't stop philly, how silly of me to think we only game up 3 points against them last game.

I would think that Philthy will be focusing on stopping the run since they know Dallas wants to rely heavily on it. It's more likely that Orton will need to make them pay for ganging up on the run and HE will need to win the game,,, that and the defense has to keep Philthy under 24pts.

Thats a Tall Order,,,

I suspect you are correct.

But what concerns me is Philly using run blitzes and Orton getting caught up in that.

Dallas has the receivers to beat single coverage, but max blitzes will be the deciding factor. Orton throws a nice ball and seems fairly accurate form the little he played in mop up time this season.

I really want a win, but the Dallas offense isn't really the problem here.

I was thinking the same thing and how Dallas should dust off that quick pass to the WR that they used years ago to counter the eagle blitzes.

The defense is seemingly a lost cause though, clearly Kiffen had a decent game plan last time but without more high winds and a shoddy performance from Foles I don't see why the eagles shouldn't score easily and often.

Like it or not Kiffin knows Kelly from College days, so probably has a good idea of what they run , and how he likes to play D.

Well I'm going with Kiffin only because he is coaching my team, but please don't remind me of the total buttwhuppin Kelly's heroes put on the Trojans again and again while old man Monte tried to protect the castle. Kiffins defense was torched and Kelly's Ducks did this early and often every time.

Can this offensive line make a game of it Sunday with constant mauling, quick and violent hands on the defensive linemen allowing Murray to escape for bigtime yardage? I know that the Cowboys have something up their sleeve for week 17. The team proved that it scouts the Eagles very well and can put a sweat gameplan together. Lets watch our defense make a few home field plays that get the fans into the game. Orton is solid as a manager if Murray can hit those holes often. We all understand that winning the TOP battle is key.

Our biggest concern is our defense gives up upwards of 500 Yds per game.

Does that work?

Yes. It works fine. We always give up 500 yards per game :eek:and we won more than half of them:D. Look Mister...we are playing 1 game. We just have to win 1 game tomorrow. Foles could throw for 500 yards himself and if we grab a few redzone picks then it didn't do so much as you think. If you are trying to backhand me a question then I will tell you that the play of our defense does matter. Football is like tennis. Back and forth. My advice...be concerned about all areas of our team. When you add them up we need to win by 1. Enjoy the game, I know I will.

If Murray can go for 200 yards and offense can control the game clock should be a victory...IF... they score on those drives, meaning TD's, not FG's.
And the defense needs to stop the Eagles on their drives, or hold them to FG's.
Key is to get a lead, and maintain it, can't go score for score. Not with the way the Eagles seems to be playing. Defense must do it's job too.

Yep long drives mean nothing if they just end in FGs. See the Green Bay game and all those drives that ended up with just 3. Yeah it eats some of the clock but the Eagles and really anyone who plays this defense, have no issue going down the field quickly and getting a TD.

We are going to have to get our run game going for this game without Romo. No way around it. We have to stick with it even if it's not getting gains we want early on. If we abandon it like we have did so many times, this game won't even be close.

I would say 120 to 140 yards is certainly attainable. What matters most is the ability to run the ball late in the game to milk away the clock.

I hope people realize how good of a season Murray is having... The guy missed two and a half games, only 200 carries and still has almost 1,100 yards rushing and 9 TDs.

200 would be nice. Lets keep McCoy under 100; AGAIN and watch the will of the Eagles break.

Murray will rush for 150 before halftime. We go into the locker room with a 23 point lead.
We give the ball to Murray 4 times in the second half and lose 34-36.

Just kidding...Or am I?

For sure..

too many 3 and out early and the game will be over at halftime.

Which is really what I expect..

..we'll spot them a quick 17 pt lead and spend the rest of the game scoring meaningless FGs to try to catch up.

The proverbial "cake and eat it too"....

I will vitch and moan, but, "I hope I'm wrong". lmao

I'm still a fan of the Cowboys.

I was before Jerry Jones and I will be after him.

I hope that clears things up for you.

I would love to see us commit to a heavy run gameplan today (AND stick with it). If the line holds up, we have a chance, which will open up the playaction for Orton downfield.
