we are in trouble, for two major reasons.

1. The offense does not want him.

2. He doesnt want our offense, obviously by interviewing.

Its hard to work together when u dont like each other. It will explode.Love them or hate them TO and Romo are right about him. Please get the Rams job. Please fire Wade. Please get Shanny.I know I may be pipedreaming.Or pipesmoking, lol.I have visions of a west coast style Offense just going off with out weapons.wow.

This deserved a whole new thread?

And how much would I have to pay for, for you to insert spaces after your periods?

I dunno if we are in trouble if Garrett doesn't leave, I believe he's very smart and will learn from his mistakes this past year.

good thread, but we're in trouble as long as Jerry is GM and a second-rate HC is in place. Jason is just the 3rd clown in the 3-ring circus.

Your right about Garrett, I hope somebody told him that there's an opening for the Raiders. I'm sure he can get that job. ;)

If you hire Shanahan, you'll have to change the Defense again. I don't know if you'd change that. They did pretty good this year. Offensively, I'd be happy to see Shanahan.

Don't forget M. Holmgren is also a good candidate.

whew. running low on bag-on-garrett threads!

last year we could have said:
if we lose garrett we're in trouble
1. bright young mind with a promising future
2. he wants to be here and 'come home'.

in short this is another "whine fix it now whine" thread.

If Garrett comes back, I hope your right.

Coaches are suppose to solve problems, not become one.

Tony Romo would be flat-out ridiculous in the WCO. He has an incredible release and is pretty damn accurate. It also requires a mobile QB, and we all know how TR is. Plus, TO is at his best in this style of offense.

He should have learned this year. Wade already stated during mid-season this team needs to run the ball. Most people acknowledged that this team needed to run the ball. Nobody stopped Garrett from running the ball, other than himself. He didn' adjust at all, despite teams coming with the same formations all year long. Garrett kept running left, when he did run, and it was the weak side.

how do we know he didn't adjust if we've got irvin and rice and others saying TO and/or roy williams can't run routes properly?

we were pretty disfunctional across the board as a team this year. people seem to want to put the blame at a singular source for either their own purposes or they simply don't like someone so here, take the blame.

garrett is a young dude. period. to say he should be as good as what we see other veteran oc's do is just silly. he's going to make mistakes and learn. it's what i do. it's what you do. it's what your kids do. it's what humans do.

unless they coach for the cowboys then those are not allowed and it's off with your head at any given moment.

i'm scared to think what message we send out if all we do is fire coaches at the 1st sign of adversity. would you go coach a team, knowing how hard that is in the NFL, if at any mistake/bad time you're fired? does your job support you when things get rough for you or do they fire you too?

When did Irvin say TO couldn't run routes properly? he stated player's need to execute and the scheme isn't the problem. But I've already given my piece of mind on that... Irvin has always defended TO and never called him out specifically. Garrett also is Irvin's boy, but his analysis with Nate was just stupid, comparing it to the Cowboys of the 90s and their 'simple' schemes. As far as Garret learning, I've got no problem with him learning. The fact is Garrett isn't ready to be an OC and when his learning process interferes with the success anf continuity fo the Cowboys, he needs to go down a couple of steps on the ladder. Hell, he is older than McDaniel and McDaniel never played football and Mcdaniel got the most out of a QB that sucked at the beginning of the year.

BTW, funny how the Garrett defender's are so keen on allowing him to learn, but are the first people to demand that Brian Stewart be fired. At least Stewart has somebody that can take over when he fails. Garrett doesn't have that...

If you think that an OC job is better than being head coach somewhere then you really don't know what you are talking about. Guys need to interview and should take head jobs if offered. Those opportunities don't come along that often. This has NOTHING to do with him not liking our O.
