I really don't understand why worry about what if's it amazes me we lose people are blah blah we win and they look at way's and reasons we should of or could of lost.

It's not that simple. Their offense would've certainly been more potent and probably scored more points with Gates in the lineup. But at the same time, they had a difficult time stopping our passing game. It would've been a complete shootout.

IF Gates had played, maybe SD would have won.

On the other hand, you could make the argument that if we were more seasoned playing the 3-4, even with Gates, we could win.

These "what-if" arguments are just that . . . . At the end of the day, we won, and it doesn't matter how many times we second guess.

Brees gets flustered and throws another pick later in the game and we win by 17.

That's like saying, well if Burnett played, he wouldn't of let LT score that first touchdown. Burnett wouldn't have got knocked down by Davis on that one score and would've broken up the pass.

They didn't have Gates, we didn't have Burnett (I know, I know, All-Pro vs rookie, but this is hypothetical), so it all evens out.
