Hurt season after season, fades at the end every year, not a impact player, last year pretty average, his contract is a joke for what he delivers.
This. Every bit of it. Truth.

Many were disappointed in D Law's final sack numbers last season, especially coming off of a huge, contract extension. Sacks aren't the end all be all for the position, as Lawrence is considered one of the better all-around DE's as he is one of the best at stopping the run.
Why do I believe Lawrence could be in for a career, type season?
-He is fully healthy now, where last season he was brought along slowly after off-season shoulder surgery. He should be able to hit the ground running this year.
-The addition of McCoy/Poe should allow Lawrence to see more single man match-ups.
-Lawrence has played his entire career in Marinelli's defensive scheme. That scheme is based on rushing 4 and playing coverage behind them. Nolan is bringing a far more aggressive, scheme. He is going to disguise 5 rushers on a given play, this will allow Lawrence to see far more advantageous match-ups to exploit.
I hope so, took the guy a few seasons to get going after being drafted, his 2019 season could be his normal after a brief peak, but I sure hope Im wrong
I agree. His motor was running hard last season, he just wasn't getting the sacks. Anyone who thinks it was due to lack of effort is seeing what they want to see.
I agree
People forget dlaw had surgery late last year and I think that effected him
Quit watching the box scores.Hurt season after season, fades at the end every year, not a impact player, last year pretty average, his contract is a joke for what he delivers.
I would have had surgery much earlier though I see why a player wouldn’tBecause of a contract dispute. I think DLaw should have had the procedure done early in the off season but due to contract situation he put it off. For me that is water under the bridge, I just want to see him out there playing to his ability. Hell that is all I ask of any player play to your ability

My hope is being fully healthy and a more aggressive scheme we see a very good year
The old eye test huh, do you apply it to Dak or just Dlaw??????Quit watching the box scores.
It is easiest to tell who either doesn't watch or doesn't know what they're watching in the DLaw threads.
Uh, I don't use the eye test. I use things like pass rush win rate. With Dak, I use things like Air Yards and catchable pass %.The old eye test huh, do you apply it to Dak or just Dlaw??????

You don't use anything except one line in the box score. So you don't know what you're watching, and you don't use relevant stats. Double whammy.
YOU ARE USING THE EYE TEST by saying he was a no show, and then using one stat from the box score. People who don't know what they're watching are generally the same people who point to things like sacks and INTs as evidence of anything."Future said: ↑

Keep it straight you use the eye test your post says so just admit it DL was a JAG last year and had a big mouth that he couldn't back up. Sad how it works stats or lack of them you flop either way, this is what homers do. Paid way to much for a no show.
DLaw should be in far ,much better health and recovery, given that this time he'll have more than the usual of time recovery period this time around that he did not give himself prior to the last minute shoulder surgery, choosing to use the shoulder as contract leverage in stalemate negotiations.
All parties thought bypassing camp and preseason, that would give DLaw the necessary recovery needed prior to the regular season.
That proved a wrong course, which he and defense pay the price for it and it seems like he never recovered and was just a shell of himself.
- As a edge rusher - sacks and pressure comes first and far most, that's what makes offenses fear that player, have coaches nightmares and up at night, and game plan and adjust to what they have to do with you as a rusher- that's why there's the fear for the JJ Watt, Khali Mack , Von Miller, Chandler Jones, and Aaron Donald.... but it's great to have a player in the trenches who also helps out with his stout run defense. A two way player instead of one dimensional.
- Dlaw doesn't possess elite athleticism such as Gregory, he's not as smooth, explosive or as agile.
But his fierce aggressiveness and a great technician in the the way he has mastered leverage and hand fighting, he has a way of shredding and getting off blocks and he also is a lot stronger than given credit for.
- But even at his top form, he still hasn't shake the knock that he tends disappears in the 2nd half and playoff games.
Until last years Philly blowout win which he finally bested Philly pro bowl RT Lane Johnson,(who he usually struggles against) you had to wonder if he also have down battles with top notch RT's..
- i hope that Nolan and Tomsula continue to move DLaw from LE to inside nickel DT in certain pass
packages as well as the twists and stunt games he seemed to excel at times.

I can't understand the gibberish of your last two sentences, but these are the metrics I care about.
Doubled more than almost anyone, won his rush more than almost anyone. That is OBVIOUS on film. The "no show" is just from fans who are jealous about another grown man's money. That's all.
I used to be a big supporter of Dlaw, even when he held out, but after getting his contract all he did was talk a big game. Constant crap talking and did nothing to back it up. I’m not a big fan of talking trash but it looks even worse when you don’t deliver. Anyways, after last year I have little to no hope for him, hopefully he proves me wrong.
