If I Could Write the Ending to Tony Romo's Career

So, anyway, I vaguely remember pleading for everyone not to make this a Tony versus Dak thing.....

And, by the way, for those who are angry because I "want' Dak to get hurt..........let me clear this up. My original post? ....it was fiction. That's right. It's not really going to happen. I do not have the ability to influence the future by creative writing. if I could then let me tell you the story about how I saved the lives of both Natalie Portman and Jessica Alba and they agreed to reward me with the ultimate threesome.

If I could write the ending......not if I could predict the ending.....not if I could choose the ending.....I just wanted to show that I appreciate the years that he played for the Cowboys and still do. It doesn't have to be a choice, wanting Dak to start doesn't mean hating Tony and visa versa.

These circumstances are supposed to be all good for Cowboy fans, win-win, we have two great quarterbacks, the majority of fans dream of having just one. But, of course, there has to be some overreaction, sensitivity, adversarial responses...

Okay, how about this.....

"Although Dak isn't hurt, the Cowboys have no choice but to abide by the league mandated concussion protocol. Despite Dak's protests and assurance that he is perfectly okay, just temporarily a little woozy from the illegal hit, Tony must take over."

Okay? So this time, the protocol was administered incorrectly, the Cowboys got victimized by a bad decision but came out on top anyway, thanks to Tony. Better?

The best would be for Tony to get a SB ring as a backup. It's not pretty but that's the best for the Cowboys. Tony deserved to get one on his own but he's had no role in this team's 12-2 record. Dak has a right to see it through.

This post just shows why people think our fanbase is so out of tune with reality. You want a guy to get a hard hit to the head so you can be appeased to see your QB you have a soft spot for? Endangering his well being and health? That's disgusting. Hits to the head and concussions are no joke.

But by all means, let it happen so you can see some QB you like come in for your fantasy ending.

This post screams you being a Romo fan, not a Cowboys fan. If you were a Cowboys fan, you wouldn't wish injuries on your own players to get your favorite in the game. A player who has led this team to 12-2 so far and a pro bowl appearance as a rookie.

You Romo people have a sick, twisted mind.

Look at what you said… "As long as they are moving the chains". That's just it – people were only clamoring for Romo when Prescott was not moving the chains, such as against the Giants.

For what it's worth, I believe we're now talking about a game by game situation. We're not talking about the long-haul anymore. Prescott is the starter, and will remind the starter. There is a small outside possibility that Romo stays with Dallas and regain the starting job next season, but I believe that to be highly unlikely. As I said, now we're only talking about game by game. If Dak is just thinking it up, he is still going to start the next game. However, Coach Garrett cannot be reluctant to throw Romo out there "in relief", especially if it's a "win or go home" scenario (playoffs). It would not change the fact that Prescott is still the starter, and would continue to start the following week.

Beyond me why anyone would wish or lay out the possibility Romo could regain his job here next year. We want a 37-year-old? A fragile one at that? Why?
Romo is the past!!!!
Blimey! We have already begun the future with Dak!
And you are correct: highly unlikely.

Wish? Mind showing me the quote that says I wished for Romo to get his job back?

As for laying out the possibility of it happening, as long as Romo is on this team, the possibility exists, no matter how remote. Anyone who can't acknowledge the possibility is foolish.

Didn't mean imply you were among those. But to even lay that suggestion out is too way out there.
We don't need a rerun of 11 years of frustration. Even Sir Jerry knows that.

I love Tony Romo and appreciate everything he's done for this team...but I don't see him getting to the Super Bowl as a starting QB for the Cowboys.

I'd love it if in some alternate universe, Romo were able to win a championship in the twilight of his career and then defend his title the following year, e.g. John Elway.

How about if Dak is abducted by extraterrestrials and his DNA is taken. After 1 quarter he is returned at midfield, the refs say, "This is highly unusual" but is allowed to play and THEN TONY CAN GET HIS STINKIN' PARTICIPATION RING AFTER THE SUPER BOWL!!!
Now, can there be peace in the valley, blokes????

Later, the extraterrestrials send Sir Jerry a fruit basket to thank him for Dak's DNA for an all-universe football team. Sir Jerry asks if they want Romo's DNA and the E.T.s laugh and say "we only want that from winners, earthling!!" And ride away laughing ....

Great quarterbacks always have their "signature" moments. You have "the Catch", "the Hail Mary", "the Drive", "the Helmet Catch".......and now you have "Romo's Last Stand

Romo's Last Stand?
What if Romo can't stand after a first hit?
Moore comes in and wins the game!
Now I hate you!!!!!!

Should have happened in 2014. We were robbed.

My advice is to quit digging. The scenario gets more convoluted and bizarre. Romo already has 40 million. Now you want his ego massaged.
Too late.move on. No storybook ending for the perpetual injured guy with 2 lousy playoff wins in 11 years.

I'm definitely not sure about the whole "romo had no role in the this teams 12-2 record"

Most pointedly would be the Pittsburgh game in the last two minutes,,, SHEESE! there was so much "remedial romo training" sprinkled on Dak in that game, the magic ROMO dust (training/guilt by Association) was falling off his shoulder pads.
There's not a doubt in my formerly military mind about that.
