I think it's safe to say that Parcells confidence in Johnson isn't anything close to what it was so it will be interesteing to see what we do in the off season about the C position.

You guys want to "dress up" your questions with big fancy words.... Just cut to the core and say...

Bill, YOUR offensive line has sucked the last two weeks. How are you going to fix it?

:D

OK, OK you're right. :D

It really comes down to that.

You know what would also have been huge? If Gurode was smart enough to hold on that game changing play to start the 3rd quarter against the Giants. Sometimes holding is the right play.

Also, if Rivera leads our linemen with 6 penalties, then I find it hard to believe that Johnson could be averaging 1 to 1.5 holding calls each game.

Sorry, my bad, I really was making a guess. He has 4 holding calls this year and 1 false start. The 2 in two straight games had me thinking it was more often.

Rivera has 5 false starts i think and 1 holding.

"Lookit, you just can't go down to the Texaco and buy a left tackle, ok?"

My response would be "Lookit... When was the last time you were at Texaco"?

These guys act like they are scared of him....... He puts on his britches just like every one else..... he just pulls them up a little higher.... :lmao2:

And for the record I'm glad he's our coach.

I'd cut to the cahse and ask: "How would you evaluate the job of your first-year Offensive Line Coach in light of the lack of executuion displayed by yuor young Offensive Linemen over recent weeks? Because their execution does not meet up to the standard of their talent-level, does that indicate an inability on the curent Offensive Line Coach's part to develop this young group of linemen?"

I'd congratulate the reporter that had the BALLS to ask this very important question!

Is this Stephen Cobert?

As lspain pointed out, that's not a question, its a adversarial statement by the person asking the "question" willed with some rather hubristic assumptions on their behalf. Evidently, the questioner knows exactly the talent level of the young players involved.

I still don't understand how the C can get a false start? He's the one who knows when he's going to hike the bal l

Al vs Gurode.....

Gurode blew that first play of the second half, but the drive where we showed any kind of push at all, when cowboys were calling one running play after another and seemed to come alive, gurode was in at that time. and he was in on the screen pass that went for big yards and the play where Jones would have had the whole left side of the filed open if that umenyiora hadnt caught him.

I dont have the option of going back and reviewing the game to evaluate Gurodes performance, but it seemed like we ran the ball much better with Gurode at Center, at least in this game against the giants.

Why was AL Johnson benched in the 2nd half? You claimed he was functional.....meaning he could have played despite the injury and surgery.

Shouldn't that answer be obvious to you?

The center can double clutch the snap.

yeah, had Gurode not blown the assignment on the first drive - I'd say he played pretty well. It seems like there was at least a spark during 2nd half w/ regards to the running game.

The questioner knows (or assumes) exactly the talent level of the young players involved based on what the head coach said. When asked about the OL play on Monday, Parcells himself said it was not a matter of their tlaent-level but instead their execution. My question takes Parcells' answer at his word and then takes it a step further.

Based on Parcells' comments it is legitimate to ask him why the OL's execution-ability falls short of their talent-ability and how the OL-coaching is involved with that. After all it's up to the OL-coach to develop these linemen well enough so that thwy play up to their talent.
