If I were an NFL player

I should be very.....very concerned over this suspension. Regardless of what team Zeke plays on, this suspension is opening up every player to be targets of false accusation from females or the general public. I'm pretty sure Zeke could have paid of this girl to go away. Instead he felt he did nothing wrong so he stood his ground not caving to this girls threats and feeling the justice system had cleared him so what for give this troll easy money? Now this will cost him millions and will hurt the chances for every other teammate who works all year to try to get to the Superbowl. Suspensions like these hurt the entire team that player plays on.

Now every one of these players has a target on their back from people looking for easy money. And if your a player you better think about paying up the money rather then rolling the dice that you might not land on Goddell's bad side. You better hope your not on a team that Godell has an ax to grind.

Players need to unite behind a fellow NFL player and against this power play Godell is trying to force down the whole NFL. Today its a cowboy player. Who will it be next? Now will the players see the big picture and unite to fight the monster? Only time will tell....

I said this exact same thing to a friend of mine. It is going to set a precedent for any body to falsely accuse a player of misdoings.

As the saying goes follow the money and you will always get your answers. My honest opinion is this is all about attorneys making large amounts of money using the DV card in the NFL now. They ruined the family/divorce systems the last fifty years with the DV card. Men have caught on and finally realized marriage is nothing but Russian roulette now a-days so the attorneys aren't making the money as easily now. This then leads to companies pulling their advertising which directly affects their bottom income. This is just the start of the fall of the NFL. Just my honest opinion which most people probably will disagree. Unless you have seen how the courts favor women in family/divorce causes.

Do you think the flip side could ever end up happening? Hypothetical: A player gets accused of something (rape or domestic violence) and he can absolutely prove that he didn't do it. Instead of just defending himself, he throws the best lawyers his millionaire salary can buy at making sure this girl gets the maximum punishment for a false accusation. Let's say it's prison time (I really have no idea what it would be). Would that make these girls think twice before making up another story? I guess the negative is it could scare girls from talking who actually were abused.

I'm not sure we know the whole story at this point. If, as you suggest, all of the evidence has been made public; Elliot may have a strong case for rebuttal and your contention is valid. We may find, however, that all the facts have not been presented.

I'm reserving judgement until a later date.

Video or it probably didn't happen with the contradictory "witness" statements.

We might not know the WHOLE story, but facts we DO know.

There were at least two text exchanges (pics to prove) of Tiffany's friend asking her if she wanted her to lie to cops AND Zeke's attorney for at least one accusation.

At the time the Instagram pics were posted, Zeke was not in contact with Tiffany.

Because Zeke's team couldn't explain where he bruises came from they decided that Zeke did it. (Quoted on NFL network)

Her quoted saying (eye witnesses) "I'll ruin your career" as Zeke walked away into an establishment with a group of males and females.

So I'm pretty sent in what I think went on.

I would rather take my chances than pay off some lying gold digger.

I don't know, zeke could be guilty. He does look like a dude that makes bad decisions. I mean he's a mouth breather with a big head. Somethings not all there lol

Well, what they REALLY need to do is challenge their representation in the NFLPA -- that AGREED to give Goodell all of his power -- to fix things in the new CBA. THAT is where they screwed up. It isn't really Goodell's fault that he exercises basically unlimited authority that the players just HANDED TO HIM.

That is the only way that things change. And they will . . . next CBA around.

"More probable than not".

That was the legal foundation of the suspension.

Its curious that the NFL believed the accuser, despite the fact that her story had multiple inconsistencies. Despite the fact that she lied to investigators on several occasions. And despite the fact that there is electronic evidence that shows her in the act of creating a false witness.

Despite ALL that they found her more credible than Ezekiel Elliott.

You know why they found her credible?

PR.

The NFL simply couldn't allow a prominent allegation of DV to go unpunished. Not after Ray Rice. Not after the Giants punter. The facts, were always going to be secondary to the PR goal of showing that the league takes a strong stand against domestic abuse.

Agreed. whats even more disturbing is they believed her and Zeke's attorneys never got the chance to cross examine her to show inconsistencies. Instead they took her word as gold and ran with it. Seems a but unfair to any player if this is how they are going to conduct investigations.

The NFL will give them Goidell's head on a plate if the players take less money in the next CBA.

One problem is that the players rep from each team is probably not the guy getting into trouble.

Attorneys deal with a similar level of scrutiny. They can be disbarred over minor criminal offenses. In some jurisdictions a lawyer cannot even even enter a plea to a charge that is deferred which is not a conviction. Lawyers have to steer clear of trouble at all costs.

It all sounds good in theory, but everything is geared towards "protecting the public" when a lot of the public is predatory.

I feel for football players in this day and time. All of them have targets on their backs. Like a walking, talking ATM. It is totally pathetic that they can decide to believe a woman who they have no doubt that she lied and cooked up a scheme on Elliott. It's pathetic.

They don't need to be strippers or ******. All the need to be is a little crazy, a little money hungry or out for revenge. There's a little piece of that in every woman. :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

This proves that someone really can wreck your life. When this lady got mad, she got revenge. This has probably cost him millions in endorsements. Don't cross crazy.

I don't think we do know the whole story. If we DO, I agree that players should be concerned moving forward. I'm just not convinced we know the full story and we may never will. We'll see.

Pretty much.

They said they followed the evidence but yet when the evidence undercut their theory they disregarded it.

The evidence is clear that the girl lied about at least one of the so called incidents. In the letter to Elliott, they glossed over that fact and instead used a quote from the detective where he said they didn't think she was lying as proof that she had credibility.

They wanted a certain outcome and built their ruling around that.
