If Jerry soon before he passed decided he wanted to do the right thing and hire a real NFL GM that could be fired if he didn’t produce

Would you forgive Jerry of the last 30 years of non sense
Nope,
It's shameful he has wasted 30 years of this franchise.
Nothing personal, but as GM he has failed this team.

That’s not a “ take” it’s a question ..
Questions make statements to present the query. These are known as the premise of the question.

The premise in this case is a bunch of trite media narratives like 'Jerry is to blame can we forgive him' and 'the Cowboys need a 'real' GM!'

Then you have a bunch of mouthbreathers answering it at face value. It is funny.

What the heck do you consider a real gm? Is that like when women say they want a real man?
When they wouldn’t know and ya’ll wouldn’t know if both walked by and say hi, making statements like that

I miss the golden old days of McClay. When he was recommending Taco Charlton over T.J. Watt and putting a 2nd round grade on Trysten Hill.

I just want to win now. I can't change the past and life's too short to hang on to regrets.

Booger has totally ruined this organization, and the extension of Dim sealed the fate on any hope for at least 5-6 years. He will get not ONE PENNY from me until he no longer has a pulse....and that includes passing on any possible Big 12 Championship AT&T visit to watch my beloved Sun Devils....and I'm only 30 miles away. I'd sooner drive to Houston or San Antonio if that were it was being played. More people need to take a stand, and gladly I'm really starting to get the feeling that they are. Really need to hear more booing and see more sad faced paper bags at home.

A ”real GM“ in my book is several things:
  • First and foremost, they do whatever it takes to win and get results in the playoffs.
  • They plan clearly, knowing exactly what kind of team they are building and how to make it work within the cap.
  • They work hard, study film, scout players and stay focused at all times on their job. It’s a full time 365/24/7 job, not part-time.
  • They support their head coach by letting him be the face of the team’s communication with players and the media.
  • They are accountable for results and hold others accountable.
  • They always put the team and its success ahead of their personal ego.
Jerry Jones does not fit the above criteria. He is a showman and salesman, not a GM. He’s good at business, marketing and sales but he is a lousy GM who is killing his team with his arrogance and ego.

Put it even simpler: If Jerry Jones wanted to win more than anything else, he would have stopped this charade decades ago. He obviously does not want to win badly enough. Which disqualifies him as a GM.
