If Lee returns, and Dallas spends a 1st-round pick on defense

If DLaw turns out as advertised and Spencer continues to improve, we might be ok at DE. I do think we need a premiere 1 Tech with some size on the D-Line and an actual Free Safety.

Free agency may fill 1 or 2 of those needs, but if nothing changes, I'd look for RT and 1-tech in the first 2 picks. True FS would be hard to ignore.

Im not buying yet. I really was not in favor of the DLaw pick. Everything i saw from him in college screamed strong side DE. We have some pieces but we really need help at DT, WDE, FS IMO. Possibly need to start looking at finding us a #2 corner as well.

The most obvious choice is a ball Hawking FS,I would bet on it being the pick if a player was available.

Enjoy the moment and stop trying to figure out next year. This year will pass quickly enough.

If Dallas were to somehow lose to the Giants and Commanders at home, this moment passes.

Carpe diem.

Pass rushers is what we need.

OL and DL are the way forward in the NFL. The all pro's skill players will come with that.

Agreed. A good line on both sides of the ball make everyone else look a whole better.

Even if DLaw blows up after coming off his injury which usually takes a vet a month or so to knock off the rust, even if that happens, Cowboys MUST take another impact player on D. Preferably another pass rusher, DT or DE, maybe even a LEO. Cannot have enough of these catalytic players who are essential for this scheme.

A ball hawking DB is always available after round 1. 1 Tech's are not that instrumental in this scheme and Marinelli prefers the short squatty try hard guys at that position who are not really in demand anyway.

It would be wonderful if the player available at the time we draft matches the greatest team need. But really, besides QB, position shouldn't really be that important when drafting. If the highest player on your board turns out to be say a guard, like this year, you draft him, or trade back if you can't use that player. If you draft based on your board then you hit more frequently than if you draft based on need. There probably aren't 5 positions on this team where you would pass on a 5 star guy and trade back because of who you currently have on the roster in front of him. I could see passing on a center, a QB (based on Romo's contract), tight end (if you are going to ride Witten's contract out), and possibly left tackle (and you don't think he can man the right tackle spot occupied by Free and are unwilling to move Tyron back to RT.) That is probably about it.

You never have too few pass rushers. The Giants just a few years ago had like 3 or 4 pass rushers and now they basically have none overnight. Pass rushers any more are like RBs on offense their career spans as great pass rushers are short.

The one big problem here is that where we will be picking as of now we will not be able to land one of the premier DL. You all saw what happened last year and we had to pay up for the last remaining DL that we thought could make a difference. Also we will be needing another corner as some have already said here.

I would trade our 2nd round pick for next year for Gerald McCoy. Otherwise, if Tampa doesn't bite I would love to have him play for Dallas. IMO he would be the one to take this defense from good to elite.

If he is good enough then he can beat out the rookie,i also want Heath off this roster if possible.

I bet we go OL, Corner, and RB/LB depending on who we lose - in no particular order - in the first 3 rounds, and people here will have a massive coronary.

I think so too.

I'd love to see this FO invest something in QB. And slowly bring Romos successor along. But i doubt it.
