San Antonio.

Goodell, I think, called it a small market. That never bodes well for a future NFL franchise. Besides, the Cowboys rule in San Antonio, like most of Texas save the deep east of Texas.

Oklahoma City, Mobile, Honolulu would be my favorities.

All are smaller markets than San Antonio but don't have to compete with the cowboys in-state.

Orlando, Fl? They are building a huge billion + dollar complex near the citrus bowl or whatever it is called these day.

Florida supports it 3 teams well now I think it could handle another.

If we had just built a new stadium the Jaguars would have been in Memphis. :(

I am a lifelong Cowboys fan, but I know SA could and would support an NFL team. We are in Texas, and football is a religion.

IMO, one of the biggest reasons we don't get a serious look from the NFL is cause Dallas, Houston, and NO are blocking our efforts. If those three were to ever simply sign off on us having a team, we would be right up there with LA.

The other huge reason is we don't have a singular owner, some billionaire willing to fork over that kind of cash to be the owner of a football team. While we have billionaires here in SA, I guess they seem content to not shoot for a football team. Too bad.

If we did get a team we would have to come up with a name

Outlaws
Armadillos
Stampede
Toros
Pumas
Javalinas
Chupacabras

I did have the perfect name for an Arena League Team.......San Antonio Venom...with a bioluminescent scorpion on their helmet (yes, they enter the arena in the dark so you can see the neon green scorpion), which is actually a deep metallic red when the lights are on.

Jacksonville has thousands of seats covered up now because of low attendance and could still have all it's games blacked out.

If a team came to San Antonio, would the locals give up being Cowboys' fans?

If Oklahoma, the team probably need to be in Enid or Tulsa cause the okc billionaires are locked into the Thunder.

i would rule out Nebraska and Alabama.

in both of those places the pro team would always be second team behind
the college team. heck in bama they would be 3rd team behind Alabama and Auburn.

There are 5 teams that realistically could move sometime in the next decade: Jax, Buf, St. Louis, Minny and SD.

I half agree and half disagree with your comment about Orlando. Jacksonville doesn't support the Jaguars at all and moving a 4th team to FL would be a pretty bad idea. They have the smallest season ticket base and are looking at the possibility of a 100% blackout this season - in fact, I would be very surprised if there is still football in Jax 5 years from now. BUT if it were the Jaguars themselves that moved to Orlando, that might be a good idea. In fact, I think the Jags should look into playing 2-3 games there as a sort of trial basis.

Toronto wouldn't work unless it was the Bills that moved there. But that region could never support 2 teams.

There's no way whatsoever the NFL moves to Vegas.

I could see either SD or Minny moving to LA.

Mexico City? Not likely. I don't think the networks would particularly be on board with that.

Birmingham has made a play for an NFL franchise in the past, so they could be a possibility. In fact, I would consider Birmingham more likely than San Antonio.

There aren't a ton of options where you'd get the requisite business buy-ins but SLC would work.

Mexico ain't gonna happen because an NFL player and/or personnel would get kidnapped at some point.

Football is already present in droves in the places where it means the most but the places most likely to support a pro team are SLC and then Los Angeles but LA needs to get through this economic period, first. Right now Cali has an awful economy.

I would love that, but with the Colts, Titans, and Bengals so close I don't see it happening. And if you open that circle a little wider that would include the Bears and Rams. That maybe too many teams in one area.

Could be, but they used to say the same thing about Tennessee.

Outside of LA it'd probably be Toronto or Mexico City. You need the pop. to support it. That's why the NFL left LA in the first place. Why would they go to some place with a small population like Nebraska, OKC or Portland that's already so close to another team. lol

Of course I'm going to say Toronto over Mexico. We've got the Jays and the Raps. We've got almost 6 million right here in Toronto alone and almost 12 in the region. Also the major economic punch that Mexico doesn't have. Anyway, the Bills are already playing two games a year up here plus a pre-season so you guys who want to keep it in the states are already on the outside looking in like we've been for years.

We Need the NFL and can support it.

I'm a Cowboys fan for life though no matter what happens.

We can't do that the football fields in Canada all have a 55 yard line. :laugh2:
