If NYG can sign JPP to 1-year deal, why cant we sign Hardy to same now?

If JPP has no market beyond a 1-year "prove it" deal (albeit one that could pay him significantly if he hits certain milestones), can Hardy have much more of a market? If not, I would be in favor of a 1-year "prove it" deal for Hardy that would allow for franchise tag if he blows up and behaves himself. I think it would be a great way to no lock ourselves into Bosa at #4, and maybe on the cheap.

Why exactly would you want Hardy back? Limited production but is a major distraction. Me first guy that doesn't care about the team. Not to mention he shows up late to meetings reaking of pot. No thanks.

GH- "I'm the guy that does my job" to JG- "You must be the other guy"

If JG were a stronger HC (JJ has to come in here) this could work. He has talent, the market is dry and we have Lawrence just showing signs of development (takes Bosa out of equation @ 4) . Can back up Crawford if needed but take him out of 3 tech in nickle as it wasn't productive or collapse the pocket; he may overpower tackles but guards have more strength and support from C/T. 5/M tops

I hear ya. But I think his production will increase this year; last year was shaking off the rust. And I don't necessarily believe all the stories about him; leaking them may just be a way to drive his price tag on the free agent market down. I don't recall such stories about him being a distraction when he was in Carolina. Quite the opposite, in fact

Carolina obviously has a better culture than Dallas has. That is why when he had his off the field issue they let him walk. We went out of our way to sign a player nobody else pursued

I loved when Hardy came back his first game and roughed up Tom Brady. I think we should bring him back. I think he'll be much better after getting that 1st year out of the way.

and the coaches and team do not want him back.

I don't know that's a given. I've seen plenty of public comments from both players and coaches saying they do want him back.

It's all the other stuff that's being assumed.

they don't want him back especially the head coach.

That seals it for me. I want Hardy back just because he gives Garrett heartburn. Hardy actually did look good the first 4 games but the more he was coached the less effective he became.

Coached or talked down to.

"Don't use Twitter"
"Don't get angry on the field"
"Don't mention Brady or his wife"

Blah blah blah

1-year prove it deal? What the hell was 2015?

Just give out 1-year prove it deals year after year? Sign Hardy to 8 consecutive 1-year prove it deals.

Hardy is no different than Gregory or Scandrick or RMcClain or others as far as risk

I believe he is actually safer because he didn't do what they accused him of. If he did it for real next time then sure he is gone but that applies to anyone these days.

If he gets suspended they get to keep his salary and get credit back on the salary cap, no biggie.

Bring on the milk and cookie guys....more field trips....more sauce......more process....more underperforming/overpaid players failing to look in the mirror or at game film.....and 5-11 will be here before you know it.

Lol it's panic time already? No to Hardy. The sooner this team gets away from being a Jerry Jones circus the sooner they get back to winning football games.

This board wants every big name signed. Remember Peterson last year?

Yup, and everybody paniced and cried like the world was over because we had no running backs...and then McFadden went out and ran for 4.6YPC vs Peterson's 4.5.

I still see plenty of pass rush help out there...even if they aren't big names that make fans happy
