If JPP has no market beyond a 1-year "prove it" deal (albeit one that could pay him significantly if he hits certain milestones), can Hardy have much more of a market? If not, I would be in favor of a 1-year "prove it" deal for Hardy that would allow for franchise tag if he blows up and behaves himself. I think it would be a great way to no lock ourselves into Bosa at #4, and maybe on the cheap.

he had a year to prove himself and all he proved was that he's a cancer in the locker room, assaults a special teams coach on the field and proved he couldn't even show up for meetings on time, or at all or his ridiculous tweets and was nothing special as a defensive end, Carolina certainly didn't miss him and you want to re sign this clown.....

Do people forget that we just signed him to a one year prove it type deal last year and it is no secret that he and the team had different views on what it is to be a valued member in the locker room.

Am I dreaming that he in no way produced for the trouble he was causing?

you're not dreaming, just too many fans are delusional

They do, but not immediately. I do not think we would be doing much of anything but bidding against ourselves.

I'm inclined to agree with this thought process Alexander. Dallas has done a masterful job of potentially driving down his market with the placid responses given by the organization regarding bringing him back. Stories of him partying too much, being late for meetings, etc. came out postseason. Intentional or not, this has to be taken into account by the 30 other potential suitors (I exclude the Panthers due to Richardson's stance on Hardy).

I think Dallas will bring him back but only on their terms monetarily.

Just like the coaches and team never had any interest whatsoever in signing Hardy last year...up until the moment they signed him.

No there was interest in him prior to him signing...people were on pins and needles for a week or more.

People hope he decides to see the same thing and makes a conscious decision to do better. Second chance.

Correct, people were indeed overly anxious during the 5-10 days of suspenseful negotiations between our FO and Hardy's reps, myself included, because we knew the potential value a guy of his talent could provide. However, up UNTIL those 5-10 days, EVERYONE in the Cowboys brass stated with vehemence that the Cowboys wouldn't be going anywhere NEAR Hardy and fans considering such a thing should stop deluding themselves. I specifically remember how confident guys like Broaddus and Archer were that Hardy would never come close to being a member of the Dallas Cowboys and after seeing how hilariously wrong they all were, I've learned to put only so much trust in the word of all the great "insiders" at Valley Ranch...

Hardy might believe he has a better market than that. JPP obviously wasn't interested in testing his.

Hardy was too much of a headache. I'd bring him back. We dealt with the headache. Now some other team issuing to benefit off of his second year. I felt like it should be us.
